2) Ajay Devgan - 8 (A proper, sensible actor, Impressive in many films - Company, Khakee, LOBS, Deewangee, Gangajaal, etc)

3) Abhishek Bachchan - 5 (haven't seen yuva, but he's improving)

4) Vivek Oberoi - 7 (Company - a great dubut)

5) Saif Ali Khan - 7 (has improved alot)

6) Hrithik Roshan - 7.5 (very good in character roles)

7) Akshaye Khanna - 7 (DCH, Humraaz - as bad guy was great)

8/ Bobby Deol - 4 (plays the same type of roles, mediocre films)

9) Akshay Kumar - 4 (was OK before, now he's forgetable)

10) Aamir Khan - 8.5 (convincing and natural, Lagaan, DCH and I can't wait for The Rising - you can bet he won't disapoint!)

11) Amitabh Bachchan - 9 (the best, even at his age he puts the rest of the industry to shame - I had to include him)

12) Sanjay Dutt - 6 (OK but mainly plays gangsters, though he was great in Mission Kashmir)

13) Govinda - 3 (Was good a long time ago, now he's the biggest waste of time ever! Keeps making pathetic comedies)

1) Shah Rukh Khan - 2/10

2) Ajay Devgan - 6/10 - one of my favs, great screen presence though not very versatile

3) Abhishek Bachchan - 7/10 - was overrated in Yuva, this rating is mainly for his very good performances in '03 (MPKDH, MSAMD, KNK, Zameen, & L.O.C.)

4) Vivek Oberoi - 9/10 - can do both the serious and the fluff with ease

5) Saif Ali Khan - 9/10 - same as Vivek

6) Hrithik Roshan - 7/10 - I think we have yet to see his best

7) Akshaye Khanna - 7/10

7) Bobby Deol - 4/10

I'd give SRK about a 2, maybe a 3. He's just not very good IMO.

1) Shah Rukh Khan - Ultimately, his work becomes more disappointing with each passing film. Every performance seems like a variation on another; even his work in Devdas was pretty lame stuff (although he had several great moments). To me, his best work can be found early in his career, especially in Dil Se.. - his best performance ever IMO. He doesn't take any risks anymore - works with the same directors, giving the same perf over and over again. Thankfully, his work in Main Hoon Naa was less attention-hogging this time around. I found his antics in Kal Ho Naa Ho disgusting.

Overall a 5-6 right now. A solid 8 for his earlier work.

2) Ajay Devgan - Least consistent actor on this list. For every Legend of Bhagat Singh and Zakhm, there's a Masti (god help us). He's improved significantly in the past few years, ever since Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. However, his work in action movies are fairly one-note. I'm looking forward to his work in Raincoat later this year.

Overall a 7 at the time being. He's given three or four great perfs - let's see if he can do more.

3) Abhishek Bachchan - Most awkward actor ever. He has no sense of body language - it's all over the mark. However, he's effective in some roles. I rather liked his low-key approach to Refugee, although Kapoor stole the show. I was not impressed by Yuva though - standing around looking tough does not equal a good performance.

Overall a 3-4.

4) Vivek Oberoi - Not much of a filmography to work with. He was the highlight in the otherwise unecessary Saathiya, and he did great stuff in Company. Honestly, he could go either way at this point.

Overall a 7.

5) Saif Ali Khan - Good for him. He started off as the butt of all jokes, the sidekick. Now he's matured into leading-man roles. He was the saving grace of the terrible Kal Ho Naa Ho, and he was equally terrific in Ek Hasina Thi. However, he carries a lot of baggage with him, so he's another one of those actors you can never tell with. He is in the danger of repeating his comic perfs.

Overall 7. I like him - I hope he follows up.

6) Hrithik Roshan - He's quite good when he tries. I admired his courage in taking roles like Fiza at such an early stage in his career. He is forgettable in sugary romance films, but he was astoundingly good in Koi Mil Gaya, even if the film lost its way in the second act. I hope he goes on trying new things.

Overall 7.

7) Akshaye Khanna - I never know if he's working or not. He comes and goes so quickly. Anyways, his best work is unsurprisingly in Dil Chahta Hai. Other than that, he's failed to really wow me in anything else.

Overall 6.

8. Bobby Deol - Oh god. No thank you. Decent in Humraaz but that was it. Quite awful.

Overall 2.

9) Akshay Kumar - Great perfs are Khakee and.... that's... it. I hated him in Dhadkan and Ek Rishtaa (other films people love). I'm mixed.

Overall 4.
