Since DEV is made by Govind Nihalani, I will not be hasty in writing it off....even his disappointing TAKSHAK was a superior film when compared to others.

But then knowing that you are only as good as your last Friday release in the industry, it would be prudent to watch DEV before deciding on how it will turn out to be. Nihalani does have some of the most memorable films ever made in the Hindi film industry....amongst a personal list of notables :

AAKROSH
ARDH SATYA (superb)
VIJEYTA (excellent)
DROHKAAL (terrific)
PARTY
TAKSHAK (beautifully shot generally - some really nice poetry included in the movie. The scene where Bose shoots down old man Hangal quoting Nehru's 'Tryst With Destiny' speech was a badly executed but conceptually brilliant shot).

Though I wanted to watch DEHAM never did get a chance (since there is no DVD available)

So lets wait and watch guys :-)

Now I can see DEV as being a hard hitting film, like other Govind Nihalini films.

In that case, I must say, they need to re-do the promotions/ trailors. I was not impressed at all with DEV theatrical trailor. Had you not reminded us of Govind Nihalini and his genere of films, we would have written it off as another dud.

Now, with Govind Nihalini, Kareena may get a hit after so many flops.

Here is an excellent review of DEV music.
http://www.glamsham.com/music/reviews/d ... vie~Review

Excerpt:

This is certainly one of the finest, most vibrant albums of the season, and one that proves Aadesh Shrivastava to be one of our most worthy composers.

For the discerning listener, "Dev" is a once-in-a-blue moon experience. As for those who just want to hear Kareena croon, there's a treat waiting for you. Go for it.
------------------------------------------
Another excellent music review from Indiafm:
http://www.indiafm.com/musicreview/04/dev/index.shtml
----------------------------------------

So, is it an excellent film with excellent reviews and a hit (In that case they need to redo the trailors)

or

a film with excellent reviews and flop where most, excellent critical reviews lead to.
