According to me The Godfather has nothing to do with the mafia or the underworld. It’s about a patriarch and his family honour.

Hmmm.. Is there an other godfather that we don't know about. With this attitude he will butcher this classic. Somebody ought to yank the directors chair from under him!

I'm sure you'll do a better job.

Nope! Never said I can and neither can he do a good job of of it! Mebbe you can! :P

Haha...finally someone got it...it's the "five-point-palm exploding heart technique" to be exact :D Yeah I know Wong Kar Wai's stuff (I'm from Singapore - you can't escape Chinese pop culture here), I just had to put in a Pai Mei comment somewhere! :baaa: I just watched Kill Bill 2 on Saturday!

I dont completely disagree with your laughter, but if you make a distinction between films directed by him and films produced by him, I think he was original for the most part (as a director)

RGV seems to have been greatly influenced by De Palma. Satya was heavily influenced by Carlito's Way and Company was partly influenced by Scarface.

"Looks like RGV is going back to his old style of making films...taxing from other movies...he should make films with original content like Shiva, Rangeela, Satya...etc...these movies are far better then any of his recent fare..."

"Rangeela" reminded me of 70's Hrishikesh Mukherjee films - "Guddi", "Abhimaan"...

Though you can't knock the guy for it... all filmmakers are influenced by the films they have seen and liked in one way or another. RGV is still a great filmmaker and one of the best Indian directors ever!

He has produced two of his greatest films in the last year - MMDBCH and EHT

RGV has said that he has read Puzo's The Godfather countless times and he got it right when he said " It’s about a patriarch and his family honour". RGV's specialty is the crime/drama, so I will be looking forward to this one for sure.

Ek Hasina Thi wasnt directed by him. Bhoot was a hodge podge of many films but I dont think it was a remake. For that matter all horror movies tend to have similar premises. The ending totally spoiled the movie
