Fun and games at BO this week!
Indra Kumar's multi-starrer Masti had a good opening, especially in the metros. The film stars Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Amrita Rao, Genelia D'Souza and Tara Sharma.
But Silence Please... The Dressing Room, with Sonali Kulkarni and Salil Ankola, wasn't as lucky and sank.

A Shah Rukh Khan-Raveena Tandon starrer, Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke also snuck in from years of being in production. The film is so outdated that the lead cast has disassociated themselves from the film.

Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates.

Masti

Cast: Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Tara Sharma, Amrita Rao, Genelia D'Souza, Lara Dutta

Number of weeks: New
BO Verdict: Hit
The review

Cast: Tabu, Kunal Kapoor, Raghuvir Yadav
Director: M F Husain
Great cinematography by Santosh Sivan, excellent music, good performances.

Not the usual Hindi film, weak characters.

Number of weeks: 1

The review

LOL

Well, did not get a chance to see it in theatre. May be for a good reason.

Box Office reports are not good for YLJK.
http://www.boxofficeindia.com/

BOX OFFICE NOTES-10th April 16.00 IST

Masti opened to a decent response yesterday. Its business seems set to be better in metros and multiplexes. The opening was lukewarm in places like West Bengal and Bihar.

Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke opened to a poor response all over

Murder records excellent collections in the first week though there is a fairly large drop on the eighth day.The film is the biggest success of 2004 so far.Delhi/UP was extraordinary in the first week.

Meenaxi is a washout

FIRST DAY INITIAL(ALL INDIA AVERAGE)

Masti 75-80%

Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke 15-20%

Actually, I had my Lamhe Tabaahi Ke when I made a grave mistake of watching PLAN in theatre, with elder members of my family. Actually, with selective editing/ censoring, PLAN may be as interesting, or even better, as Munnabhaaii.

YLJK seems like a loveable interesting film from its promotions. Actually, it's doing reasonably well at Albion Cinemas, in comparison to Masti.
