Cheran to direct Autograph in Hindi

Cheran is directing the Hindi version of his successful Autograph. The film is also running successfully in Kanada and Malayalam and the remake rights in Telugu has been sold for a huge amount. Amitabh Bachchan has bought the Hindi remake rights after competing with Sridevi. Hrithik Roshan or Abhishek Bachchan may be cast as the hero of the movie.
According to sources, Cheran has been offered an unexpected amount to direct the film in Hindi.

Yes it is worth $8 (If you are talking abt going to theatre not buying indian vcd!)

I saw the movie 2 days back. It is great. There is no big story with turning point and question mark and exclamation. Its a very simple movie. Thank god it is not directed by K Balachandar... he would have confused the climax.

Simply the best.

I don't go on reviews for Indian films these days because every time I do, I end up not liking the film or being disappointed. Is the original Malayalam version on DVD?

I watched this today. I liked it a lot. It is basically Cheran's character going over his life since he was a teenager, revolving around his romances. Events that would have sparked huge melodramatic scenes and histrionics in most films are treated in a down to Earth manner here, which makes the emotions in the film much more effective.

The DVD from Ayngaran shows some signs of improvement IMO. It is kind of soft, but a little better than Virumaandi. The video should be a little wider, since cropping was evident in the opening credits and the scene at the end where everyone is posing for photos. DTS is included as usual, and it is progressive.

I also watched Autograph. I enjoyed the movie tremendously. The story and the acting were really genuine. Also it was interesting how 4 different cinematographers brought 4 different looks to Cheran's stories. My favorite being the camera work of Ravi Varman in Kerala. This is definately one of the best Indian films of 2004.
