The director of hit French movie Amelie has pledged to sleep with his award for three weeks if he wins at next month's Oscars. The French film has a number of nominations for the awards, including Best Foreign Film. And Jean-Pierre Jeunet says if he wins one of the coveted statues, he will not let it out of his sight. He says, "My wife is American so I am very proud to be nominated." Jeunet says he was not upset that Amelie's star Audrey Tautou wasn't nominated for Best Actress. He adds, "Audrey is very young. She has time to learn." And if he had a chance, Jeunet would love to work with one of the actresses nominated for the Best Actress Oscar. "I would love to work with Nicole Kidman. She told me she had seen Amelie three times and I love Moulin Rouge," he says. He also revealed he had been approached to turn Amelie into a TV series - but refused. "I said 'You're kidding. No, it won't happen, '" he adds.
