The new version is real widescreen. I may be able to double check the above shot in my DVD with ref to the above pic, before I part with DVD.

We've discussed this before...Saathiya was first noticed by Congress to be THX. Unlike to other films Rana mentions, Saathiya was recorded in sync sound as well.

Funnily enough Rana, you were the second person to reply to that post :D

Oops, forgot about that thread discussion and mention of Saathiya.

I haven't heard anything about use of THX standard in Indian News since.
May be, Indian journalists don't know of technical aspects and importance of THX standard for audio.

THX logos are in the film credits. To put THX logo in the film credits, audio on film track has to be THX certified. I doubt, they could put THX logo in the film credits just for using THX audio studio. YHX quality approval has to be there.

I'm not sure if there is THX certification for visuals in theatres??

THX certification for DVDs exists, but that again may be certified just for audio or for 'audio as well as video'. No Indian DVD has been certified by THX for any tech category.

For publicity sake, film/DVD/ 'whatever' makers may get the cheapest THX certification category and put THX logo on their product. It's your guess, what tech aspect got THX approval.
