I would recomend that film, as I dont understand the language, but still, I enjoyed the film.

Ayangran DVD current is decent? with 5.1 sound!

some one mentioned there is anamorphic version too?

Sunny audit, promised that ayangran will release a new edition, with fresh film based transfer, but never got materialized.

May be darius, dragun, etc can help u pick up, the right KKdvd, by ayangran!

Ofcourse, if anamorphic version is available? that would be preferable!
Good luck!

I wonder which version did I pick up this Saturday. Didn't know there were more than one versions. I think it's Anamorphic. As I bought it from Ayngran, it must be the latest version. I'll check it first thing when I get home.

Too bad, this DVD too is on Silver media.
Is the older stock on Gold Media??

guys there is only version of the movie even though there is several covers out there. The one I have states that it has a DTS soundtrack when it doesn't, just an awesome DD 5.1 soundtrack. And the video is cropped 1.85 non anamorphic but is very good quality much like the older Eros-DEI releases.

For more information check out this thread: viewtopic.php?t=5364

but yes there is no anamorphic version of KK out yet on DVD, atleast that I'm aware of. Rana, can u check ur version and confirm if its anamorphic or not?

firstly, darius, pls check ur pm..

secondally, i agree with u, dd 5.1 is awesome, i wont ask for dts, on cost of video, but unfortunately it is cropped, non anamorphic, video is extremely pleasant, but not 24fps! thats the only diff between this and old dei dvds!

We will wait for sunny audit to comment here as ayangran promised a new dvd with extras, prog, anamorphic and dts..

So, should we infer spiky? that an anamorphic version exists?

I saw the film on national television a year ago. It's a quite nice film. Nothing special, but nice. :)

It was my first Tamil film.

Not only Anamorphic, it's DTS as well.

My copy turns out to be Anamorphic as well as it has DTS track as well. DVD menu gives an option to select DTS or DD track.

But, just like Boys, Virumundi, Kaaka Kaaka, I'm not sure how to confirm if it really has DTS.

The cover states Anamorphic. Cover tech table states DD. But right next to tech table, DD and DTS logos are ON.

It's not Prog or Pseudo-prog. It'd PAL to NTSC converted. PQ is similar to Shemaroo Field Averaged DVDs.

This is interesting! The movie dvd I watched long ago was not anamorphic and the cover wrongfully stated it came with a DTS track. Rana can you confirm the aspect ratio. The anamorphic version on the songs dvd had a aspect ratio close to 2.20.1 and have slight cropping.

Trust me, my copy that I picked up this Saturday, is Anamorphic (AR aprox 2.2:1) and has DTS selectable option just like in Boys, Kaaka Kaaka and Virumaandi. Only difference in KK DVD as compared to other three is that KK is Field Averaged Interlaced where as the other three are 24 fps Progressive.

As you mentioned in the other thread, to get DTS audio you have to pick DTS option from player options. I haven't tried this out yet, but seems rational.

Yes, the latest shipment from Ayngaran is Anamorphic Widescreen, with Dolby 51. SS and DTS.

The Ayngaran store in Toronto has some good deals. I was there 10 days ago. Certainly cheaper than their website. Now I wish they would buy the rights to some Hindi films.....

Fixed prices. I had really hard time negotinting the price down from $ 18 to $ 17 despite how many DVDs I was buying and telling them that they had a Sale on, just a few days ago, for these titles sale priced at $ 16.
