I dont think, this dvd was included in ORIG list?

But If I have to put DDLJ..I can put it somewhere around MOHABTAEN, I agree, this DVD did not do JUSTICE to the film..

Still, i think, it was one of better DVD by YRF-SD , way better than SAATHIYA, downwards!

I would like to know how you rate these movies. Is it a general appreciation of what you see on the screen or is it more objective, like 2 points off automatically if it is non-anamorphic (even if it looks great)?

In the list I gave, GOOD movies vary in quality (some have a softer image, etc.) but they are all watchable as far as I am concerned. For me, a BAD movie is an altogether unwatchable movie because of its bad video transfer.

I will post in the future a new list with ratings from 1 to 10.

If u like them ur way, how it looks to u, then no one can match or differ as every one has their own pair..lol..

My score was for PQ and Audio quality as judged by my eyes and ears, based on watching these DVDs on large screen (bigger than 36 inch) Progressive scan displays.

(BTW, Arsh has even bigger screen high end audio and display and has better discriminating eyes and ears too.)

I don't take off a few points just because it's non-anamorphic. Many letterboxed (non-anam) DVDs are miles ahead of Anamorphic Indian DVDs of these days that are PAL to NTSC converted field averaged.

My assesment is definitely biased against PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged DVDs as I am of the opinion that a NTSC DVD should be Film to NTSC telecine and PAL DVDs should be Film to PAL telecine. There should be no field averaging.
