I thought, clipper dude, was comlaining about NON RESTORATION and HISSING SOUND! he was NOT A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT OUR DEFECTIVE ENCODING PROCESS ASPECT? ??? :hmm:

lets back pedalled here to the original issue and my reply to ul post - the newer bei releases are not the same as earlier ones somehow we turkey hopped around that and the discussion went in all directions in your efforts to skirt that issue if you examine your posts you will discover where the trio of you have tried your darndest to defend bei even though in your post you have just about acknowledged bei is loosing its edge some of you though tried to rationalized the pricing of the dvd as an excuse to justify these shitty transfers through out this discussion i was truly amazed to see the length one would go to defend a groundless issue its like whipping a dead horse how ever to each his own you want to stiffle your consciences and deny that bei is now like the rest so be it i wash my hands from this issue :D :baaa:

Thank you all for discussing on this topic! Please continue.. :)

I just wanted to ask which DVD's of DEI/BEI are the same quality of that of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, or even better. Maybe there's a good movie I want to have on DEI DVD. Tell me about it! :)

My picks:

Hum Saath Saath Hain

Tum Ko Na Bhool Paayengay

Ek Rishta (Beaware of pirate/ at the time of release, a fake DEI DVD was making the rounds)

Ali Baba Aur 40 Chor

Kaho Na Pyar Hai

An Evening in Paris

Yeh Dil Aashiqana

Deewana (Shahrukh)

Dhai Akshar Prem Ke

Hawayein

Saathi

Sharmilee

Fiza (Perhaps Spark, authored by DEI; avail in UK)

I may have forgotten a few.

May be. I didn't notice that

How were Jung and Krodh?

Just like all other that I listed.
Jung is considered by many to be best in Audio (Thunderous bass).
These two DVDs are of particular interest to Indian DVD collecttors as they were the first two Anamorphic among Indian DVDs (of course they were progressive too as 99% of DEI/ BEI authored DVDs).

Oops, forgot to mention

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun

and

Maine Pyar Kiya.

Both under DEI-EROS label.

Arsh knows, one of these two titles and a few others where DEI went extra length to re-author audio to excellent DD 5.1. Not just same audio in all 6 channels.

HAHK, is the BEST HAHK, out of 4 HAHK releases! But wont still call it ONE OF BEST DEI releases, as its SURROUNDS were NOT BALANCED! esp songs!! SOUND LEVEL, was disproptionately too high! But for HAHK!, still way to go is DEI!!

MPK..was REMASTERED, only DVD HINDI OLD EVER REMASTERED from same company who remastered MGM's NBNW etc!!

But per DVD it was TOO EXPENSIVE deal, so they never did it again..kept sudio as it is Dolby surround, or stereo, as it was!

But their DOLBY SURROUNDS are WAY BETTER than others DD 5.1 e.g KHALNAYAK/GHAATIK r WAY TOO GOOD! imho

Really? Lowry Digital Images did the NBNW DVD. Are they credited anywhere?

BEI DVD covers have contact phone #. I don't have any BEI DVD with me at the moment, but can post the Ph # when I get home, unless someone else already does so.

Anwar, try phoning them or contact by e-mail, before going to their HQ. It'll be a lot cheaper. :D

I have no idea, if any of these contacts work, but this is what's on their PARVARISH DVD cover:

Address:
30 Main Ave. Suite 2
Sacramento CA
95838
USA

e-mail:
mailto:ssonu@megapathdsl.net

Ph:
916-921-2830

Fax:
916-921-2832

Good Luck.
