B Nagi Reddy dead

Veteran film producer and Dada Sahib Phalke award winner B Nagi Reddy died here on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. Mr Reddy, who founded Vijaya-Vahini, Asia’s biggest film studio in 1950 and produced over 50 films in the four South Indian languages as well as Hindi, had been ailing for the past six months.
His condition deteriorated on Monday and he breathed his last in the afternoon.
Mr Reddy (92), leaves three sons and two daughters. Some of his famous films include “Missiammaâ€, “Enga Veettu Pillai†and “Maya Bazaarâ€. Born in 1912 in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Reddy launched “Andhra Jyoti†in 1945 and and the popular children’s magazine “Ambulimama†in 12 languages in 1947.
Subsequently, he launched several other magazines like “Bommai†and “Mangai†in Tamil and “Vijaya Chitra†and “Vanita†in Telugu and Kannada. He closed down Vijaya-Vahini after the Tamil film industry moved out of studios in the 1970s and started the Vijaya Hospital and Vijaya Health Centre.
He headed the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce for four times and All-India Film Sammelan for two terms. He was honoured with Dada Sahib Phalke award in 1981.

Among his Hindi Films, wasn't it Ram Aur Shyam most famous. Sadhu Aur Shaitaan too?? Other B Nagireddy Hindi films??
