I know there are some topics started for 2003 best and worst? This may be exclusive for tamil DVDs. Recommend the must buy 2003 release Tamil DVDs.

Ongoing we can recommend the must own new tamil DVDs by Zulmies... IS there any good 2004 Tamil DVD(s) out yet?

The latest Ayngaran releases are as good as before, nothing compared to the few low grade dvds released (Winner, Mansellam, Alai, ).
Among them (Ihave teh below),

THIRUMALAI: film is better than last 3 Vijay films, DVD and sound are very good.

JAY JAY: film and story is arehash but worth for Madhavan and the new actresses, dvd is very good again with a few trailers for films to be released (Virumaandi, PKI Saravana...)

OTTRAN: Haven't watched movie yet, bought it as its Simran's last tamil movie at least for now. Songs are ok, PQ+Sound are good.

DUM: Stoty is crap plus Chimbhu is overacting, some funny moments, songs are good and DVD is very good.

The above DVDs have DTS as well but nothing compared to a good Hollywood mix.
Some might think all of these films are not worthy of owning on dvd but that is their problem.

I bought Kaaka Kaaka and finally watched today. Solid movie...I could see this as a Sunny Deol starrer in Hindi, but it's being remade with Fardeen Khan with the same director. I don't know how the hell they will pull that off...but we will see.

THITHIKUTHE is also a very good movie with mainly newcomers Jeeva and Sridevi. Some decent comedy by Vivek but Sridevi is totally awesome while the main hero isn't too bad of an actor. The movie has some really good songs though with a good DTS soundtrack. The pic is however lower than the quality of the recent Ayngaran releases and is somewhat grainy, but still its WAY better than the Eros releases.

JAY JAY has some really good moments and ok songs. Its really good if u like Madhavan's movies but overall its still quite entertaining. AMAZING audio/video quality.

PITHAMAGAN as discussed in another thread is a really good but hatke movie. Its from the director of Sethu (remade as Tere Naam) so don't go expecting an upbeat movie. The lead acting by both Vikram and Surya is very good.

LESA LESA is a somewhat older release (released in Nov I think) but is still a decent romance movie, directed by Priyadarshan. While its not on par with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, its still very entertaining with some nice cinematography and some good songs. The lead actors Shaam and Trisha are very good - Trisha is really good actress who kinda reminds me of Amisha Patel without the overacting. The film also features a great special appearance by Madhavan, who has a really awesome fight scene towards the end of the movie. The video is lower than Ayngaran's recent releases but is still ok while the audio is really good.
