Salman Clones Throng Hyderabad

Imitators of popular film stars are dime a dozen . However , Hyderabad has established a new benchmark in the imitation act with over a thousand people living in one locality , imitating Bollywood star Salman Khan to the last detail .
For these youngsters most of them in their twenties , Salman is a sort of cult figure . They imitate him in in every respect . "We do whatever Salman does . We dress like him , we go for the same haircut and we try to adopt all his mannerisms" , said a Salman Fan.
For many , Salman may not be that adorable because of his repeated brushes with law , but for this star-struck crowd , he is the ultimate hero . "These things are immaterial . Some people are out to damage his image . But it is not going to change our love for him " , says a hotel worker .
The whole thing started about six years ago with a handful of Salman fans organising an informal get-to-gether . Since then the fan club has over a thousand members . Most of them live in the old city and regularly meet in a gym near the historic Charminar .
It may sound strange but none of the members have ever met their hero in real life as this fans association phenomenon is the first of its kind for Bollywood and so far restricted only to South India and pockets of Bihar (Shatrughan Sinha ).
