Ridiculous. When did stars suddenly become foreign policy experts and diplomats?

Stick to acting and creating gossip for low magazines like Stardust you uneducated gits.

I think it's quite funny seeing these actors jump up and beg for peace, it shows how pathetic they are. It's nice to want peace, but what is the real reason for this pantomime?

“The purpose is to lift the ban on Hindi films in Pakistan which has been in effect for over four decades [Indian films were banned in Pakistan after the 1965 Indo-Pak war].

That's basically the reason...it's all to do with MONEY. Alot of the Indian film industry are pissed off that Adnan Sami can make so much money and achieve success in India, while they can't make any in Pakistan so they use this as a front. They feel left out & cheated. However, If they were truly serious about peace why didn't they talk peace before? Why now all of a sudden?

I believe if Adnan Sami and Nusrat FA Khan wern't so big in India, you wouldn't have seen this act.

Trust me, if their films are rejected in pakistan and there's another war, you'd see these same actors make anti-pak films. Urmila wouldn't know which way to hang her head. Urmila states "Pakistanis love Indian films. Why not make them legal in Pakistan? This will help bridge the cultural gap between the two countries." Well Pakistanis do get to see Indian films (pirates)...though not legal, but how does making them legal help bridge cultural gaps? It just helps Indian actors make money in Pakistan.

'The actress had also visited the Wagah border to distribute sweets to Pakistani rangers during the music launch of Pinjar.'

Pakistani RANGERS...did I read that right? :nopity:

Well...I dunno how Indian politicians became foreign policy experts and diplomats in the first place. Education? I think any of the extras in Bollywood are better educated than Rabri Devi. What's with people describing actors as stupid. I think most are easily higher educated than the majority of people India produces every minute.

And why should we give away our films to Pakistan for free via piracy anyway? Getting paid for your own work sounds pretty reasonable to me. The cause may not be noble, but is certainly legitimate. :wotever:

Politicians actually, you know, run for an elected office. I don't ever remember seeing Urmilla running in the elections while proposing her peace plan...

Say what you want about corruption in Indian politics, there is a big difference between Vajpayee (I hate Rabri Devi) and Urmilla.

And why do we have an embargo on Pakistan? Maybe because, you know, we happen to be in conflict with them?

Imagine a Hollywood actor going to the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the name of "peace." Same concept.

You must be joking! Actors should stick to acting it's what they're good (or try to be good) at. Speaking their mind about peace is all good, but going to the border and distributing sweets to pakistani rangers, takes the cake!

Fighting piracy is totally legitimate I agree, but why did the film industry take 28 years to come to this? Especially after Adnan Sami's success. To be realistic any 'peace' between the two countires will be short lived. They can't even play cricket without an extremely tense atmosphere.
