well best thing to do is check at pakwebstore...all the ones ive seen there are from original sources...and they just recently added qayamat+chalte chalte..and thats the only chalte chalte one there...(even though are millions of chalte chalte 2in1 dvds around)
vision dvds are prolly the best 2in1s as they often use original sources....

but forget that..i found a 2 disc pirate of chalte chalte...lol..for 5 pounds..and it included a more break proof plastic cover..and the outside cardboard cover box..

In today's TV program, they showed promotional clips from EROS Chalte Chalte DVD. Pic was Pseudo-prog implying Film to NTSC cine tel conversion. No film to PAL to NTSC to PAL to NTSC crap. Like many EROS releases, the DVD may not be progressive, but definitely is Film to NTSC tele-cine Pseudo-progressive.

As normal for EROS DVDs of new films, it must be anamorphic and have true 5.1 sound.

EROS DVD of Chalte Chalte is Pseudo progressive and the presumably pirate version in 2in1s was field averaged (PAL to NTSC transfer).

Chalte Chalte TV commercials that I recorded off TV a few weeks back were field averaged and were from the same source as presumably pirate version included in 2in1 DVDs.

What does it imply??

1) EROS used a pirate version to promote their theatrical run??

2) The presumably pirate version, is not really a pirate version, but is semi-legit version (or pseudo-legit or pseudo-pirate) and had film distributor's blessings and basically intended for those markets where the film was not screening in theatres??

Eros does not want to upset their theaterical distributors if they released the DVD at the same time as the movie. That is the reason DVD was also delayed.

Only way to make more money is to release the pirate and claim you have nothing to do with is as it has no subitltes. A long habit of all of these manufacturers to make black money also. Basically they screw everyone.

It may just be that TV promos have nothing to do with the actual DVD.....the promos we get here are generally the ones released by the music companies to sells the CDs in India.

saw the most perculiar thing today....

went to the video store(english)..and went to the shops personal folder  (pirate movies) and noticed that they had chalte chalte there which of course wouldnt have interested me...but it had the madman and av channel logo at the bottom of the cover..?!?!

this got me interested so i borrowed it..on the disc it sed trade previews (dont know how they got hold of it) so im guessing this was a trade preview from eros to madman...chalte chalte print turned out same as eros...but im thinking if this is a trade "preview" then it must have been given to them ages ago and might remaster it instead of using the eros print...

anyway..it sed releasing in october..and they also had armaan trailor and a few other international movies..so well wait and see.. 8)

SLIGHT UPSETTING UPDATE:

well good news i found the covers...they look better..
bad news it sez eros on the chalte chalte cover..
good news it doesnt say it on the armaan cover..
bad news it has same features of eros chalte chalte on avchannel website..

Much better colour and contrast rendition than the Eros release obviously, but the picture is non-anamorphic, cropped, soft and has that awful logo. No subtitles either. :?

I have this DVD. The transfer is the same as Eros's, but is PAL and without the colour-lag problems. REM have also upped the gamma levels to brighten the picture and improved the colours slightly. All in all, it's only marginally better than the Eros disc.
