More speculation: I think YRF are rushing this out - the amount piracy of K3G DVD/VHS have opened their eyes to mega $$$ being missed :rolleyes: I doubt if they make it for a release next week. No extras are mentioned so this could be the film only version of the DVD and probably later release a collectors dual disc edition.

I don't think they(YRF) will try to cash in on the film's success by releasing a single disc DVD and later releasing a collector's edition DVD set. I say this because I'm sure the craze of the film has died down a bit and i know of many, MANY people who have already purchased the pirated K3G DVD. And if YRF do indeed release a single DVD of K3G, I don't think it would sell as much as they would expect, since the people who really loved the film already own the pirated version on DVD. I think this news is just the starting to what's only going to be one DVD release and hopefully a Collector's edition DVD with many supplements (as according to Karan Johar in his interview).

I agree, it's no point in releasing a single DVD version now after the pirates have done their job. It would have only made sense if YRF released a single DVD version straight with the cinema opening of K3G. Wait and see how this one comes out.

Hi. http://www.indiaplaza.com is already offering a pre-order of K3G and you get the Amtiabh (sp?) Hit Songs DVD for $29.99. I think it should be out within a few weeks cause Indiaplaza usually does not offer preorders unless the release date is soon...

You have a good point, I never really thought about it from that prospective. And it could make well sense, because since most DVD companies realize the increase amount of piracy, YRF themselves probably took the initiative to release the K3G DVD(bootleg) and beat other piracy producers to it, before the others could cash in on there product. It does make sense to me, and if this is indeed true, YRF have probably made millions out of it. The film ran packed house shows for about 3-4 weeks in cinemas worldwide and its DVD became the hottest selling item in the Indian DVD market.
