I have the original DVD of Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke that I one won from DEI in the old days when they owned there own dvd online store. Anyways there is no pixellation/distortion and it doesn't look like a poor transfer on the menu or menus.

I think the picture of Waheeda Rahman is from Neel Kamal (1968), also starring Raaj Kumar and Manoj Kumar. Tina Munim picture is from Souten (1983). The BEI print of this film is simply perfect. It co-stars Rajesh Khanna and Padmini Kolhapure.

Just to update everyone EK NAZAR (dei) froze after 6 months since purchase, and DON (dei) is showing early freezing symptoms. Both dvds were purchased from IW.

Time for a DVD Writer buddy to start backing up copies of your favorite movies....thats what I did and it was well worth the investment of $200 Canadian :D

Thanks UrbanLegend, indeed, its time I started backing-up DVDs, especially the brands vulnerable to DVD rot. Would you be kind enough to give me details/links of software and additional hardware (if any) that I need. Thanks.

I have been told by a knowledgeable friend that the freezing
problem is due in part to the data -nothing to do with the
actual disc..

DVD discs start freezing after some time (if on cheap media), but a back-up exact code on Computer Hard Drive or elsewhere, does not freeze.

I have to say that it is DEI DVDs again that have rotted, not the new BEI batch. Trouble is IW and Nehaflix still do not have new BEI releases for many titles...

Is anyone noticing the NEW BEI RELEASES freezing, or is it still early days for them?
