Salman: The box office hero!
Despite the controversies surrounding him, Salman Khan is still the hero of the box office. His latest release, Satish Kaushik's Tere Naam, costarring Bhoomika Chawla, opened to packed houses.
Yet the film has not managed to displace Hrithik Roshan's Koi... Mil Gaya, which has been declared a superhit.

Vikram Bhatt's Footpath, starring Emraan Hashmi, was the other release this week. It failed to recreate the success of Bhatt's last film, Raaz, starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea, and bombed at the BO.

Note: Films are ranked on the basis of their performance at the box office every week. Though a film may be declared a flop, it may have performed better than the other films that week.

Arsh bhai KMG does not surprise me ....... I did expect it to work wonders for hrithik....... and he does do a very good job in it.... i guess this is the first superhit of the year! but I am kinda surprised by tere naam as i thought the promos looked horrible esp with the sallu wig..... but i guess the film worked for some reason.... the girl looked good though.. I am now really curious to see this film as people praising sallu's acting a lot and i always believed he couldnt act.... i need to be proved wrong!

I agree with ATROCIOUS SALLU WIG! along with pREITY, AB WIGS in ARMAAN!!

BUT, to my eyes!! BESIDES that, Music doing well, good songs picturization, girl, looking innocent, and natural, and scenes, from story looking, very interesting..were a kinda clue to me!!That this will WORK for SALMAN!

Believe me..I dont care for DIRECTOR SATISH KAUSHIK my self!

Koi Mil Gaya is on the top even after 4 weeks and inspite of two hits (Tera Naam and Gangajal). Apparently it is the biggest hit this year. Even in the US(from the theater guy I saw the movie in the 3ed week), it has tuned around and made a good gross.

True. Did Tere Naam release anywhere? I did see the posters at the local indian theater but have no idea if it released.

Bu remember that the first week numbers of Tere Naam were no match of Koi Mil Gaya's second week numbers (in India)

Tere Naam actually was released in mainstream cinemas here Toronto at least, because it had EROS backing it. It seems though the majority of collections for both Tere Naam and Koi Mil Gaya were made in India itself.

How can KMG be a superhit? It cost 3 times more than KNPH but has made so far about the same money.

The cost of the film was between 20 and 28 crores, and the film up till now has grossed (net) more than 33 crores.
