It could very well be that KKKH might turn out to be a dual disc - it'll be a nice surprise :stupid:, but I doubt YRF would pass on an advertising opportunity on this fact on their website.

‘super bit’? Very misleading as any Indian DVD can be described like that as they come with hardly any extras – but that don’t necessarily make them superbit as in Colombia Tristar Super Bit titles.

DTPH has a 3 hour running time too, with an additional burden of a dual audio track (English and French); for techno know-hows this is going to look like a mess on bigger screens or those not to accustomed to picking up compression problems and other problematic artefacts, I doubt this version is going to look any different to the version already out. So just be cautious when buying these new versions if you already got the previous DVD of DTPH or KKKH.

sorry! for mis quoting, I did not mean these will be super bit!! I'll never even from my death bed!!
What I meant was that simillar to CT superbit dvds, even with no burdens of extras etc!! U might be able to get a decent transfer with single audio track!! It willbe only DD, as with length of hindi films DTS can not be accomodated!!

BTW!! Biggest hitch of getting a better bit(not super bit) of hindi films will be their length along with stupid extras!!as it wont fit on one disc any ways!!

I have kinda personal feelings of KKHH being single disc too!!

BTW!! Ali, do u have older YRF versions of both KKHH and DTPH with screen shots, I think I have both, so we will see?? HAATH KANGAN KO AARSI KIYA!! we will compare on BIG SCRENS too!! :vsneaky: :baaa:

Menus and extras are exactly the same on both DVDs. Sound is probably the same 5.1 too.

Isn't it obvious from the screen shot comparison that anamorphic release of KKHH is no as good as the old letterboxed version. It is understandable as the anamorphic DVD is supposed to have been made from letterboxed master. This implies some Video Processing and thus some degrading. Moreover, the old release of KKHH was in film mode (24 steps per sec). We will wait and see if the anamorphic release is film mode or video mode. If the new release is video mode, that will be another set-back.

DTPH is a different case. The previous release was video mode and had an awful picture. If they did re-encode it in film mode (wishful thinking) it may be better than previous release. Letterboxed Film mode is preferable to Anamorphic Video mode. Of course, best is if it turns out to be both, anamorphic, as well as, film mode (I must be dreaming).

Can someone post the results if these prints of KKHH & DTPH (the anamorphic versions) are indeed Progressive or not (Based on step counting or when played on a DVD player with progressive indication)...

The KKHH (non-anamorphic version) is progressive.. I dunno abt the rest

my kkhh anamorphic dvd seems to be dying on me. it freezes in a couple of spots and there are no major scratches on the dvd surface. i think it's beginning to rot. anyone else have this problem? (i think i see the beginnings of disc rot on my dtph anamorphic dvd too)

anyone know where i can get an exact dupe in the toronto area?

There's a flea market in Shepard & Western (on weekends ofcourse) that has about 5-7 different vendors selling the new anamorphic DVDs for both KKHH & DTPH for about $9 each. You can check there and pick it up.
