I happened to watch the screenshots of this film..from the main page... I have a question...Was the film shot in B&W or was it in Color ? ...I see some shots in color and the rest in B&W ....

I thought only the song ‘pyar kiya to darna kya’ was in colour, with the rest of the movie in b/w, but obviously not.

It has been said that Asif wanted to shoot the movie in color but movie's ballooning budget had to forced him to shoot the movie in black & white. However he was able to shoot parts of the movie in color including the song Piya kiya to darna kya and the last 25 minutes of the movie. It was also rumored the parts shot in color were among the ones shot towards the very end of the filming of the movie as Asif wanted to fulfill his dream to present the grandeur of Sheesh mahal in glorious color and need time to obtain funds to fulfill this dream.

After Asif only Dilip Kumar can really answer this question.

i just watched the movie! besides song and last 25 minutes! one more song is in color so total 2 songs and some footge!
