A lot has been said and written about Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new project, after DEVDAS. There has been tremendous speculation about his new film. Reams have been devoted to this keenly anticipated film. But none have really got the official statement from Bhansali himself.

Like always, IndiaFM is the first to get the EXCLUSIVE info on Bhansali's new project. While in Johannesburg [South Africa] with this writer, Bhansali spoke at length about his forthcoming film.

The project, titled BAJIRAO MASTANI, will star Salman Khan in the lead, as we all know by now. “But,” Bhansali clarifies, “I haven't signed any leading lady yet. Yes, I've been talking to a few people and have met a few actresses as well, but none have been finalized so far.”

But the media was busy speculating that names like Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji have already signed on the dotted line. “That's news to me,” Bhansali laughs, “Just imagine, learning about the star cast of your film from the media!” On a serious note, he elucidates, “I haven't spoken to any person [media] yet, so how can they throw names? Believe me, I've yet to finalise the leading ladies.”

Not just the stars, but Bhansali, it seems, is opting for a new music director this time around [HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM and DEVDAS had music by Ismail Darbar]. There's talk that he had approached A.R. Rahman to score the music. Is it true? “Well, I won't deny I have met him. But everything is in the preliminary stages. It's premature to talk about it,” he says.

Bhansali also points out that he won't start the project this year. “The film will go on the floors only next year. I haven't even completed the scripting yet.”

The expectations from Bhansali's new film are gargantuan. “That scares me,” he tells me, “There're enormous responsibilities on your shoulders even before you start a project. But life itself is a challenge, you've got to accept the challenge each day.” True!

As long as Nanga Khan is there, this project is doomed. Not even ARR can save this.

Well, people are speculating, if SLB, waiting, Madhuri to return/ to be teamed with Sallu, miyan..They were teamed before successfully..HAHK, DTAH, HTHS..did I miss any?

other Speculations are ESHA DEOL, replacing, ranu Mukherjee??

So, afer Kamla Hasan, Anil, and Ofcourse, BIG B, it is SALLU's turn, to ROMANCE KIDDOs..

Yes you missed Saajan.

Can someone tell me why Esha Deol continues to get film offers and that too prestigious ones. She is not only ugly, but she also cannot act. But then I guess when has any of this been a deterrent for star kids. Anyhow she ought to make a good match with the Nanga Khan and S.L. Bhansali can make the biggest flop of his career.

Just as the Rajesh and Dimple Khanna progeny Twinkle before her, this star dud will continue to torture us before some other star comes along and heroically rescues us poor audiences from the torture of watching her.....by whisking her away into marital oblivion.....are there any takers out there? but till then suffer along mate....:-(

Personally I don't think Twinkle was all that bad, definately not in Esha Deol's league.

Twinkle was an AWFULL actress!! I am GLAD MAAN /BETTI , were able to PHAANS, Akshay..GOOD FOR US!!

I saw a PIC of Rinkie wedding..Rajesh..looked OLD BEGGAR, Dimple..still gRACEFUL, TWINKLE..fat and Awful..

Rinkie, u all KNOW? :baaa:
