Do any of you have OMNIMAX theaters near you? The films in this format are very impressive, since the screen is a dome and fills your field of vision. I had seen only OMNIMAX films until I saw an IMAX film, and it was underwhelming in comparison.

I have seen Omnimax stuff in Paris. Nice, but the tiles
of the dome were obvious in bright pictures. The grid
was somewhat distracting. Any dirt or hairs look ugly,
and the 24fps prevent fast motion from looking good.

The OMNIMAX presentations I've seen are very clean. Rarely is there any major dirt, even for the helicopter footage of the city they've been showing for years.

I wish, it would be every time, when u watch a movie, but as these kinda theatres r occasional, and every one, might not have access! and they dont play mainstream movies, very much!!

thats why, atleast once in life time is must!

The Matrix should be incredible on IMAX screens. But sadly, they are not widescreen.

I once had the chance to see an Omnimax 3D moives. It was mindblowing.Even the recent Magic Magic looks good in 3D.I would to see all those great FX movies like Star Wars,Jurassic Park,Independence Day,Matrix etc in 3D.I wonder why they don't make mainstream movies in 3D.

Of course, they are.
Omni-Max is not widescreen though.

Both screens are so big, it doesn't really matter. You can't see action on the whole screen anyway.

The first of the two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded, will be released nationwide on May 15, 2003 in the 35mm format and is tentatively scheduled for a June 6th release in over 35 IMAX theaters.

It's odd, a film releasing on a Thursday, instead of a Friday?? It's a long weekend in Canada. Is that a long weekend in US as well?? If it is, then it's understandable.

BTW, it starts showing from 10PM on Wednessday (a day before) in US - Canada.
In Ottawa,
On Wed, the shows are every 15 - 20 min and on Thurs onwards, every 30 - 40 min.
