I saw this dvd a few days ago. Being born in 81, It wasnt really made in my time and it never came across me while I grew up. Anyway I took the opportunity to purchase this and it is a gem of a dvd. Very clean and clear picture that has very good sharpness and looks great for its age. Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan look gorgeous and the movie overall is just brilliant.

The movie is different than conventional bollywood movies in terms of plot but the director knew he wasnt taking any risks when he signed up AB and Dharmendra. Dharmendra steals the show. I know he is regarded as a bimbo of hindi cinema but I dont see him that way and he certainly has a quality about himself and he makes his presence known onscreen. I havent seen much by Hrishikesh Mukherjee but his projects vary so much. He is a masterful director and there is no one right now good enough to take up his throne as the king of bollywood filmaking.

They sure dont make 'em like this anymore. This is a great classic. Highly recommended. Also has anyone counted how many spelling/grammar errors there are on the back of the dvd. This has to be some sort of record no doubt written by someone of little intelligence. DEI are professional in dvd making but the covers/package they seem to give no sh*t about. The DVD cases I have been getting from them recently have been sh*t.

please do try Bawarchi, Khoobsurat and Golmal by the same
director if you want to have a good laugh

NEW DAYS, films, KHEL, was GOOD!!

even Hrishi da, himself, could not recreate his magic, in JBKK!!

That is CALLED a QUALITY SITUATIONAL COMEDY, where damn actors, dont have to distort, their faces, behave idiots(without looking), install, long teeth, change their accent to create IDIOTICISM!!

Thanks for these recommendations. I saw Golmaal today and it was hilarious. There was some good reference to a previous HM comedy (chupke chupke) when they were listening to Geet Pehle Bana Tha. Also a lot of the guys from Chupke Chupke appeared in this movie perhaps just for the purpose of being self referential (Om Prakash, AB, Kesto Mukherjee and David). Amol Palekar was brilliant

While this was indeed a great movie Chupke Chupke just edged it for me. It was well worth the purchase. Another great classic from a legendary director. I have got Do Aur Do Paanch but since it isnt made by HM, perhaps it isnt that good. Im going to watch it tonight or tomorrow. Will let you know what I think of it.

HM tends to use a lot of the same actors in his films. What was the name of the actor who played thief in Chupke Chupke? He was one of the job applicants in Golmaal.

Surprisingly one of my friends prefers the new Golmaals over this timeless classic. I swear, if she were next to me, I'd have puked on her face.

And also Rohit Shetty must stop creating crappy films under the title of a timeless classic.
