Can u actually copy dvds that are available? Can any movie be copied or just some certain ones, and also is there a loss in quality when copied due to compression? I just asked a mouthful...

There is some software that can split a dual layered DVD onto 2 single layered DVD-Rs. So there wouldn't be any loss in quality, but you would have to change discs.

copying dvds isnt rocket science.. u basically rip the VOB files of the disc onto ure harddisc, run it through DVD2ONE, specify the size u want it to be i.e. 4.3 gig and there u go u get nicely reencoded DVD which u can copy to DVD+R.. not hard at all.. it takes about 2 hours to actually do it!! About loss in quality of the movie... it depends really... majority of the DVDs only use about 5 or 6 gigs worth of data for the movie and the rest is reserved for extras and shit.. if u want the extras then maybe u`ll lose quality, but if u just copy the movie u will a better quality image (approx 6 or 7 bit rate) depending on the original source.. Ive copied loadsa discs now, and i will show u some screenshots later... theyre good shit!1
