Dear Zulmis,

I have just ordered the DVD of SOLDIER as I have heard after reading all the posts, that it has dynamic 5.1 output. I also ordered DEI/EROS -ZIDDI which had some attractive 5.1 dolby digital. not to mention the video was well done too.
I was wondering if someone could make up a list of all the DEI/EROS DVD's which have good 5.1 mixes. I was looking at the list of all the DEI/EROS DVD's, but its hard to tell which one's mono, stereo and 5.1

Any recommendations.
Thanks,
Haroon.

Its going to get complicated and also confusing.

As Arsh found out, some covers may say stereo or 4 Ch and Power DVD may give a different info.

Moreover, even if a disc has DD 5.1, we also need to look into what was the audio mix for theatrical release. Except for 3 or 4, I even doubt that, I don't think, any production house went back to the original multi channel audio masters and re-mixed professionally for the new audio standard DD 5.1.

Another issue is wheather disc is PLATINUM version or not?? I thought, platinum was an EROS way of differeentiating Prices, not quality?? If a disc came bypassed EROS house, it will not have any evidence of PLATINUM or GOLD stickers??

Movies with really kicking 5.1 tracks that I remember;

Satya (Eros/DEI)
Dil Se (Eros/DEI Platium Edition)
Gupt (both B4u & DEI had good 5.1 tracks)
Hu Tu Tu (Eros/DEI)
Maachis (Eros/DEI)
Lal Badshah (Eros/DEI) :wotever:

About Maachis EROS/DEI edition. Does anyone know if there's another edition, EROS only edition.
Cause I'm wondering if that edition is the same as EROS/DEI one :

Fred, all Eros-DEI titles have Eros-B4U counterparts. Some of the Eros-DEI DVDs I have seen, possibly pirate replicates, do not have the DEI logo on the front cover, but they usually had their address on the back.

So, Buy, Check, if u find, Authored by DEI on the back, keep it!
If not then you have a choice! Watch on your own risk, or Return it! and Look for DEI version, If u can find? Legitimate/Illegitimate!

I think, Jolly's site still sells them? but HIGH PRICE!

Good Luck, Fred! :P

Well partially true!. The logo is not part of the original art work, but either DEI or some enterprising retailer placed a huge black label sticker with DEI written in gold on the front cover. I have a number of these and they were acquired from IW, IP and IBB a few years ago. To the best of my knowledge they are all originals!

I've seen the DVDs with the sticker. My copies of Sholay and Jeans (bought in 1998) have the logo in artwork itself, and I'm sure I've seen other such discs for rent.

Maybe the "replicated" discs I saw were the extra discs they pressed, and they didn't want their logo on the cover so they removed it.
