Maybe BEI got the disc replicated in Singapore?

How is the film?

Well a good storyline, one of the better films of J.P.Dutta. Why do I get this feeling that BEI is gonna release the entire J.P.Dutta catalogue ? (minus of cos, Refugee as YRF holds the right for few more years). But if the indications are right... who knows this year's blockbuster, LOC may be relased under a BEI label !

[minus of cos, Refugee as YRF holds the right for few more years)]???? I am kinda skeptical of that? If u have YATEEM dvd, and as u start dvd advertisement of bEI titles, one of the first picture is ABHISHEK holding TIRANGA!!

I pointed that screen shots to ali!

with comments..lOC is still too far, so only film with ABhishek Tiranga, could be REFUGEE!! Pls. confirm? if u have YATEEM DVD!!

So, If I extrapolate that shot, may be included with JP DUTTA catologue, POSSIBLY BEI got REFUGEE rights too..so, What?

Yes..are u thinking what, I am thinking? expect a REVISED/STATE OF THE ART of REFUGEE!! From HOUSE OF BEI...This will be my WISHFULL THINKING!! :baaa:

that Abhishek with the tiranga picture could also be from "Dhai Akshar Prem Ke", in the beginning when abhishek's character was in the military.

i don't have DAPK but i got refugee. But, if i see the pic, i can probably tell u. Also, in Refugee, he supports a beard, and in DAPK, he is clean-shave. So, if it has abhishek in army suit and clean-shave, then i'm pretty sure its DAPK. And, also, i don't think there's any scene in refugee where he holds a tiranga.

If any body interested, BEI's anamorphic YATEEM can be selected to be played in "PAN & SCAN".

But it probably doesn't actually do any panning or scanning, right? It just stays in the middle of the frame, and that too, with some letterboxing, since anything over 1.77:1 will have black bars.

Exactly.

I don't think any DVD encoding - DVD player combo can do real Pan & Scan. It always selects the center portion of the pic. Being a digital medium, anything should be possible though.
Benefit of available Pan & Scan feature is that if you are watching an anamorphic DVD on a 4:3 TV, you can get a magnified picture (at the cost of cutting off sides), if desired.

I'm sure we all know:
DVD players give 3 viewing modes. Letter Box for 4:3 TVs, Pan & Scan for 4:3 TVs (it is just labelled Pan & Scan, but selects only the center of the pic and even then only if allowed by the anamorphic DVD), and the last one 'Wide Screen' for wide screen TVs.

I've read that pan and scan instructions can be encoded onto a DVD, but that it would take up a lot of disc space. 1.85:1 films usually have extra info at the top and bottom that can be opened up, so pan and scan is useless, and people who want pan and scan for 2.35:1 would still complain about the letterboxing, so separate transfers would be best.

The first R1 pressing of Last Temptation of Christ inadvertantly had this flag set. It was corrected in later pressings.
