Ali, do you know how to enable capture on a Compaq DVD player? I can do it on my Dell, but my Compaq -- the laptop I surf with (and maintain my website with!) -- has some sort of security measure preventing me from capturing anything within the DVD window.

I have to agree that this DVD is a must own regardless of what the review says and it will sell like hot cakes no matter what!. And once again "EVERYONE WAS EXPECTING FAR TOO MUCH ONCE AGAIN!!" Just look: Lagaan finally comes out on DVD by CT and already people are complaining about the DVD not being on 2 discs and etc.!!!

As long as YashRaj keeps using Super Digital for DVDs you will never get an excellent Yashraj DVD, because Super Digital is not capable of making good DVDs no matter how hard they try.

hey thanks...... i gotta check them out tomorrow hopefully... i just wanna own this dvd..... despite everyone saying it is not good...... i guess maybe the extras are exciting me more than anything else.....
btw how much did u pay for this dvd???

Its being sold at $40 everywhere. And even though this DVD is a big let down interms of its DVD quality, but it lives up to the YRF standards, and what i mean by that is, its supplements are awsome! and YRF are known best for giving great supplements on there DVDs. And this is by far the best for any Indian DVD, slightly better than Mohabbatein's supplements. And regardles of how crap its DVD quality is, this is one must own DVD for all Indian Film fans. I would rather own this original DVD over the pirated one anyday just for the great supplements. But another thing that pisses me off big time about it is that, its a f**king cardboard packaging, and i nearly ripped bits of it just to get the damn thing to open.

The only thing I know for that prevents screen shot capture is when hardware acceleration is enabled - if there’s an option on your compaq DVD player then trying disabling this.

BTW Simran which website do you maintain?

Convert them to jpeg format and upload them to some free space and link to them in your posts - click on IBCode when posting too see more info about including images in posts.

Why would you buy such an awfully produced disc. If it is the movie you want, just buy the long available pirated disc. Not to save any money but to get a decent quality disc unlike the one made by Yashraj Films.
When you buy such crappy discs, you encourage the company to continue to put out crap.

I personally think it is the retailers who are overcharging. bollywoodsoundtracks.com had this at £15.99 on pre order and since it's come out they have put it to £17.99. They must be making a profit as I can't see any desi shop even think about losing money on any sale.

What is worng expecting too much I mean as consumers we are justfied in getting our money's worth. Its this kind of mentality that makes companies like EROS or YRF not care about quality (and eventualy much retailers and consumers tooas this forum has shown).

DDLJ should have been one of the best DVD's in the market, let consider some facts.

ONE, the film rights owners have access to original negatives, so decent transfers could be made from them onto an interpostive print! (Hell they produced the film)

TWO, brand new Dolby Digital 5.1 mix could have been created from original audio stems which Yash Raj films should have access to as well!

THREE, better DVD encoding work could have been afforded from YRF who have become leaders in UK Indian film distribution. Having million dollor sucesses from cinema showings of films like Biwi No One, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, and even the recent film K3G, I'm sure they could have made this title have a more quality built to it. Hell even DEI was offering to do the film for free, which they decline when I asked them if they was intrested! Ok I understand them declining since DEI are rivals but at least try other authoring houses, which would make DDLJ shine on DVD.

FOUR, Yash Raj has had over two years to make this product on DVD 9Since the DVD crazy began), but it seemed like they just did the product last week. Even the one day old new releases DVD's from DEI look better in quality.

FIVE,_I'm sure others can add there own views which would make Yash Raj see sense.

I hope they are reading this forum to see how pissed off I am with them...
