the equipment listed on the shemaroo site is indeed state-of-the-art. hollywood studios use the Spirit Datacine to scan the film in a digital format, as well as the DaVinci 2k for color-correction.
now, do they know how to USE what they've got?

They probably think all that technology can run on autopilot and spit out a perfect transfer without any human skill.

They're too cheap to hire someone skilled in video authoring, so they probably get their accountant or someone to do it! ???

Just gonna add my 2 cents to this topic. I haven't had the chance 2 watch MEA, but understand it's a classic by anyone's standards.

I would like to see a stellar cast in this film. Dilip Kumar would be ideal. Aamir Khan would be suitable or SRK could step up to the plate again. I feel Ms. Rai just would not be able to portray the role well after scrapping by in Devdas. Madhuri is just too old I'm sorry to say.

Not many other actresses who could fit the mould as we're in a barbie doll/model actress era in bollywood at the moment.

. :nopity: :keh:

Director wise, I don't think SLB would be willing to remake another film after Devdas. I read Yash Chopra quoted as saying that Devdas was a good film but it lacked the soul of the original so maybe he could do better :hmm: :fight:
