Salman in Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam

Ever since Kaante hit theatres Pritish Nandy Communications has been in news. To cash on further publicity the company has decided to remake Guru Dutt's old classic Saheb, Biwi Aur Ghulam that is estimated to have a budget of 25 crores. It is yet on scripting stage… no stars have been finalised as yet except for Salman Khan who will the role that Guru Dutt did in the original. However insiders have that the role that Meena Kumari did has been offered to Aishwarya Rai. But will she nod to do a film with Salman even if they are not paired with each other? Now that is one question we don't have an answer to!

Arsh bhai this must be the joke of the century. First of all Salman Khan to prance around in Guru Dutt's immortal role and then Sanjay Gupta to direct this.

Do I hear super flop and super crap.

i find salman's comedy idiotic. pyaar kiya to darna kya, hum dil de chuke sanam.... no offence to Salmfan.

more suitable character would've been Akshaye Khanna.

I knew this will stirr max level controversy!!

Man!! film making na huii, bas bachon ka khel hogaya!! Rani mukherjee or Kareena ko Waheda Rehman banado!! Sanjay dutt/Jackie ko Rehman!! u got it!!!

What a SENSITIVE film and PLOT and what a mockery!!I find Mughle e Azam humiliated the same way!!!If remade!!!

Khuda ke waaste!!! Apne writers ko sochney do!! Kuch naya!!!
they should get their butt heads moving!!

My choice would be Big B, Akshaye Khanna and Amir Khan as the male roles and Rekha, Aish and Gracy Singh in the female roles.

gaye 25 crores paani mein... well whatever expressions/trends actors are used to now salman is expressionless and shouldnt even try... i dont know why they are even bothering to remake classics... well i guess they ran out of original ideas in bollywood sometime ago .. anyway my choice if at all this remake happens will be aamir khan..

Even though I am not a person who likes Salman Khan, he has been in a few good movies which helped shape up Indian cinema. Films like Karan Arjun, HAKH, KSSH, Andaz Apna Apna, and Maine Pyar Kiya all are good entertianers.

I would think that Salman Khan, who has just acted in Tere Naam, a remake of the controversial Tamil film Sethu, just might be able to pull off Guru Dutt's role. The chracter of Sethu is one of the best seen in Indian cinema and if the Hindi remake is just as good then I know he could carry off this next Sanjay Gupta Project.

I personally think that if he is good in Tere Naam that he can actually win numerous awards for it. If you have seen the original then I'm sure you understand what I mean.

I even know Sanjay Gupta has the capacity to remake the film, after seeing his underestimated love poem Hammesha. But doubt it will as good as the original. Even Sajay Bhansali's remake of Devdas was quite poor in comparison to the Bimal Roy classic.

Forget Salman playing 'Bhoot-nath' - I seriously doubt if any other actress (living or dead) could come anywhere close to Meena Kumari's portrayal of 'Chhoti-Bahu'.

I am going to be interested to see who they pick for it.

Besides, again, AB/JAckie/Sanjay/Anil(if he can grow up) might be able to pull through REHMAN,s role effectively!!Under a SEASONED director!!

I dont see any current CROP of SO CALLED ACTRESSES to pull through MEENA KUMARI's role..EXCEPTION is MADHURI DIXIT!


BHOOT NATH, man not Salman khan, AAMIR or SRK..might work!

Director!! U need a SEASONED GUY able to HANDLE a SENSITIVE FILM< with all sensitivities it needs!! Not kinda guys like Karan Johar, Sanjay gupta, Gudu Dhaona! Tinu Anand!! Satish Kaushik...man!!

Saale, COOK bhi chale haen Film direct karne aur woh bhi SBAG!! FOREVER CLASSIC!

Producer Pritish Nandy, we hear, has finalised Manisha Koirala to play the Meena Kumari role in his Rs 25-crore remake of Guru Dutt's classic Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam.

Kareena Kapoor is showing great interest in clinching the Waheeda Rahman role.

Salman Khan will essay the Guru Dutt part.
