Just a sneak peek on these albums...

IMO Jism wins all the way. M.M.Keervani has really come up with a fabulous music composition for this film... Easy listening .... and great

Ismail Darbaar seems to be going down the drains... I think he is useless without a Sanjay Leela Bhanshali beside him ! The hit duo of Mehboob and ID fail miserably with Baaz - A Bird in Danger ( no pun intended... this is the title of the film)... Give this album a pass... after one listening

Shreya Ghosal - with ID worked wonders in Devdas.... and now she repeats the feat with M.M.Kreem ! (Jaadu hai nasha hai ..)

I haven't listened to Baaz and I probably won't, but Jism is a really good soundtrack.

I wouldn't dismiss him so quickly. Even though SHAKTI was fairly dull, I think DEEWANGEE had a couple of terrific tracks on the soundtrack. I think he puts out good work when he has time to do it - he spent years for Bhansali's films, and that's why they are of a very high level of quality.

Kamran.. I thought ID was very much a creative music director... His compositions for Devdas were awesome.. (you can say his Pinnacle.. its another story that Monty stole the thunder with his killa of a background composition)...but Deewangee was no match to Devdas.. (or for that matter even HDDCS).. and surely Baaz is nothing when compared to Devdas. The only thing that I liked in Devdas was the music... period... and mind you even the lyrics by Mehboob were awesome !

BTW if you didnt know... Ismail Darbaar resorted to "lifting" of tunes when he composed the music for Deewangee (of cos what can u expect when u have Aneez Bazmee as a director :D )

Quote:
Ai ajnabee [Deewangi (2002)] <TC>
Composer: Ismail Darbar
Lifted from Portugese 'Fado' singer, Dulce Pontes' song, 'Cancao do mar'!
Listen to Ai Ajnabee | Cancao Do Mar
[i2fs] comments: Two interesting things to note here....'Cancao do mar' was part of the soundtrack of 'Primal fear' from whose plot Deewangi has been inspired. And second, 'cancao do mar' has already been lifted as-is in Tamil, for the movie Kushi, with music by Deva! This is probably Ismail Darbar's first blatant lift...I can almost see Director Anees Bazmee and Producer Nitin Manmohan compelling Ismail to lift this number...but you never know...!

gotta agree with you guys. Baaz shouldn't even be compared to Jism. MM Kreem does a wonderful job where as ID is just getting bad to worse. Shakti, Deewange ("pyar se pyaare" one decent track) & now Baaz all dissapointments!

Bipasha will do the same like she did with Raaz & give us the first hit of year with Jism.
