When Three Roses was annouced as a project with the cast consisting of Rambha, Lalia & Jothika I thought OH GOD another hollywood rip off. But during the intermission of Kadhal Virus film they showed the teaser and full trailer of Three Roses. I must say from what I saw I was impressed. Good fight scenes by Kannal Kannan who did the excellent fight sequnces in Mudalavan/Nayak and Villian. The technical aspects looks promising.

Also seeing Rambha was something of a surprise she has actually lost a lot of weight and looks quite thin. Intrestingly she is also the producer. Lalia (from Nandhaa, Dheena) still looks like a school girl but that will not dis-intrested the older male audience (naughty!) . But Jothika has put on weight, and is the only one out of the cast that doesn't look that good during the fight sequnces. Still it will be intresting to see Indian girls fighting corruption for a change. And if the film's bad I can enjoy the excellent music score by Karthik Raja, especially the songs Dil Dil Se Pyar, I love India & Sevvai Desam...


The trailer of Anbe Sivam was also shown and the film stars Kamal Hassan, Kiran (Gemini, Yaddien) & Madevhan (Run). The film is directed by Sundar C and looks quite poor in its techinical aspects. However the jokes and scenes were very funny and we can expect a comedy riot. This film was shown in a 1.85:1 format on the big screen, I am wondering if they have shot this film in the normal American Acadamy ratio or if they have cropped it from 2.35:1?

The songs are quite poor and Kamal's singing has gone worse! Still his banter with Maddy was a highlight point in the trailer and it is because of this I will be watching this film on the big screen. Actress Kiran has shown vast improvements in her talent since GEMINI & Villain and looks set to be quite an actress. I can see many big time Hindi director's use her in some forthcoming projects if she continues to be as good. Maybe Subhash Ghai was right in discovering her...?

Expect DVD's of Anbe Sivam and Three Roses in July/August 03' and I can inform you that they will be anamorphic OAR, with Dolby Digital 5.1...and done in progressive 24fps (for those purists out there) as it will be encoded by Ayngaran themselves and not by Prasad labs.

Sunny.....(Whats so true.. I love you and your words here... :D That the dvd will be encoded in a progressive format)(the song from Boney M)... You have made my day here :) This is how a DVD should be encoded and this is how a film should be viewed ! Way to go Ayngaran and not wasting ur time with Prasad Digital ! (in its present form)

Kadhal Virus was fipping horrible!!!

It cost more then Kaante to make and still sucks!! The story and acting was similsr to a C-Grade Mithun film. Only the technical aspect, and music score was the saving grace. Why DID Rahman choose this film???

Anyway I can't wait for Rahman's next album release Aarzacachi, which stars Arjun!
