Disagree with you there - the Sur DVD was up to the usual standards of Eros, Spark and Video Sound. I know that was nothing special, but I don't think they should be written off so soon - remember the squashed anamorphic crap Eros used to release?

Coming back to Kaante.

Any news about screening KAANTE in Toronto Cinesphere I-MAX??

The theatre is booked for Fridays and Saturdays only for the comong weeks. Lots of good time slots are open.

Apart from the Hi Octane action, the "Ishq Samundar" song alone is worth watching the movie in Cinesphere type theatre. It might show up at AMCs, but I'm not convinced that AMC theatres have the proper DD audio??

From the link, it seems, Kaante will be playing at all AMC theatres.

Interesting article of the filming techniques... I still wonder why a loser DVD authoring company like Media Partners have been given the DVD rights for this film ?

wow, people are kissing gupta's butt all over the place... Super 35? BIG DEAL... Bollywood sticking to anamorphic lenses is what it's all about.. Super 35 isn't some "special" leap forward in terms of filmmaking.
Sheeshus... let the thing just release, and show us just how you take a hollywood-made movie with Amitabh, and make it as mediocre as can be.
Oh, and when you watch the shootout after the bank robbery, think "HEAT". They even copied the "speed-up" Micheal Mann used when they put they put their masks on. Heck, even that shot of the bullets hitting the police car are a direct lift from HEAT....
has gupta done it again? YES!

Why can't this new generation make any use of the genius that is Amitabh? I can't wait to see what Farhan Akhtar does with him.

Kaante was shot Super-35? So Sanjay Gupta even copied the format in which Reservoir Dogs was filmed! The only reasons I can think of to use S35 would be if there were a lot of dark scenes in the film and to make a 4:3 fullscreen transfer that does not require panning and scanning. I hope the prints are made in the US if it was shot in S35 because Indian labs would probably screw it up. I don't like the overly grainy, slightly soft look of Super 35. Give me a sharply photographed anamorphic film any day.

i think KAANTE international success will be hampered by the delay in its release after all if it had come out way back in May it might just have had a chance although thats a tall order what with SPIDERMAN & SW2ATOC and now its up aganist the likes of HP2 DIE ANOTHER DAY and of course the biggest of the year LOTR 2 i think KAANTE has got no chance of any international box office bonanza not while these 3 top films are playing during the holiday season !!!
