I'm watching Kaante along with Two Towers on Monday at Star City Gold Class with Electronic Leather Reclining chairs. Gonna be a night to remember. :D

So for all the people who are going to watch this on the first day or over the weekend, I plead with you NOT to post who the policeman is, if you do clearly mark it with SPOILER.

Thanks

Do you realize that there may be some who did not know about the 'cop' at all. You just spoiled the film fror them. Talk about spoilers.
ANyhow I guess you are forgiven cause you only meant good.

Oooooooooooops, was that a spoiler too :D :D :D

Do you guys think this film is funded by the underworld? Or linked to it in any way, or do you think that's just hype?

I don't think this film would even be able to touch Reservoir Dogs or even City on Fire (which wasn't that great) after all it has Sanjay Gupta behind the camera.

I've seen all the trailers and shit, and my conclusion would be that, the direction won't be a let-down.

This film has the words INSTANT CLASSIC written all over it.

I guess you have not seen the trailers of the other trashy films Sanjay Gupta has directed (??) in the past. The trailers to his films have always been by far superior to his films. In fact I should say he is one of the best traioler directors there is in Bollywood. Hmm there's a thought, maybe that is just what he ought to be doing and he should leave the direction of the actual film to someone else.

Yes, I agree that almost everyone by now already knows that the Kaante is based on 'Reservoir Dogs', but have you considered the fact that some may have not seen or know the plot of 'Reservoir Dogs'. Or maybe there are some like myself who have seen 'Reservoir Dogs', but it has been such a long time since I saw it, that I had forgotten certain aspects of the plot, until this thread reminded me of it, that is.

Ali,
May I suggest a spoiler tag for this thread in the title. For those who may still not have ventured into readign this thread.

again Sanjay - I'm NOT ARGUING WITH YOU!!!

However, unless a person has been living under a rock for 2 years, they SHOULD know everything about Kaante by now!! If they're HARDCORE fans, then they should attempt to find out as much as happens. Case in point, I can kind of suspect who the cop is, and I kind of know who dies / who lives at the end of the movie. And I'm sure Arsh and Faddy know alot more about the movie than me!!

Now, one question - sure I'll take your argument that there actually are people who are fans of the film but don't want to know anything about the movie till they actually see it. Now, wait a sec, here's my question:

WHY ARE YOU EVEN READING ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE IN THE FIRST PLACE? TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER, SHUT OFF YOUR TV, AND GO LINEUP IN THE THEATRE FOR THE FIRST DAY, FIRST SHOW SCREENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, no offense is intended WHATSOEVER, but it amazes me that you're reading this thread in the first place.

and here's what sanjay had to say when asked if the movie is a remake of RD.

Asked whether the film was a remake of the Hollywood hit 'Reservoir Dogs', Gupta replied, The film has not been inspired from any single film, but an entire genre of films such as 'Reservoir Dogs'. It's just that 'RD' became so popular that it is up-most in people's minds.

this guy is really lame, first he says he had the script for 9 years & it was NOT inspired or a remake of any film & now this?

Instead of arguing about putting on spoilers, why don't we have two separate threads (not that there aren't enuff already) for Kaante, one for review and one for discussion. The review thread should be strictly for reviews of the movie without the spoilers whereas the Discussion thread would contain all your rantings/arguments/opinions on the movie without the need for you to put spoiler warnings in your posts. People who haven't seen the movie don't have to look in discussion thread. Simple!

vjamajic, i agree with you a 100%, but then the people shouldn't complain that they found out about the spoilers.

kandiazINC, you're right too. And i guess thats why there are 2 separate threads on this film...

sanjay, if you're still reading this, i hope you're not mad or anything by reading any of my posts. I didn't mean any offence.

No, I am not mad and no offence taken. But I am a little confused as to why you feel that a person cannot be interested in this or any other film for that matter, and at the same time not want to know the plot, story and/or details about the fiilm before actually watching the film. I for one prefer to know as little about a film as possible when I go to see it, my wife on the other hand prefers to know everything about it, including whodunnit. She actually claims that she enjoys the film more that way. I have never been able to figure out how she can enjoy the film once she knows everything about it, though it does explain to some extent why our Indian reviewers give away the entire plot in their reviews. I guess everyone to their own.

As for why I am reading this thread, well for one I had no idea there were any spoilers in it, if I had known I would have avoided it. Second reason being, that I read almost all threads. The most ironical part about this thread is that it's whole objective was to stop people from letting out specific details of the film, 'scarface786' did not want the cops name revealed, but by putting the term 'copper' in the very title of the thread spoilt it for some who may not have known about this. But like myself I don't think many woudl have related 'copper' to 'cop', unless they already knew, therefore it was still alright. But upon opening the thread itself there is nothing left to figure out.

By the way, I repeat, I have seen 'Reservoir Dogs', but it has been a while and I had totally forgotten most of the details, specially about the cop, that is until I read this thread. Why I continue to read this thread is quite simple, it does not matter anymore.

Simply put, as a rule, no spoilers should be included in the title of any thread. Also any thread with spoilers must have *SPOILERS INSIDE* as part of the title. Threads related to reviews and all other miscellaneous issues should not have any spoilers. It is only in discussion threads, quite clearly titled as such, wherein one should go into details of the film itself. By the way these are very basic rules that most forums related to films/theater/books etc. follow.

Ali,
Once again, May I suggest a spoiler tag for this thread, in the title. For those who may still not have ventured into reading this thread.
