No, I haven't seen this DVD. But I highly doubt about the re mastered songs by EROS for a songs DVD.

Yes!! i have that DVD, by DEI, later done by EROS too!! What r we interested from " maen hoon Amitabh" ?? If I can help?

Arsh would u say that the mehbooba song on the main hoon amitabh disc is better or worser than the actual sholay dvd?

Main Hoon Amitabh by DEI has much higher bit rates than DEI Sholay DVD for the Sholay clips (Mehbooba song and Amiabh takes Veeru's proposal to Mausi). DEI Sholay DVD had bit rates of 2 to 5, DEI MHA has bit rates of 4 to 6.5. Both have DD5.1 audio @ 448 kbps.

If these clips were done all over again straight from film or redone from the original higher quality master or just copied from the DEI Sholay DVD with new compression, I can't say. May be some one, better judge in PQ, can report if there is an improvement in PQ in MHA DVD.

If there is an improvement in PQ of Sholay clips in MHA, may be some day, someone will get hold of DEI's original better quality master and redo the DVD with higher bit rates. Even if it takes more than one disc. Sholay deserves it.

Arsh, I received the JPEG pics of SHOLAY screen caps. Unfortunately, I don't see these pics properly as they come out almost totally dark. I think, what you were trying to say was that despite much higher bit rates, PQ in Main Hoon Amitabh Sholay clips is no better than Sholay movie DVD. Actually, I didn't see any noticeable difference in the two PQs either.

Then, I wonder what's the reason for higher bit rates on Main Hoon Amitabh DVD??

Is it really re-mastered from film or just copied from Sholay DVD. It can't be replicated from Sholay DVD as the bit rates are different.

Well!! one thing to check? single vs double layer on SHOLAY DVD!! I think DEI did SHOLAY twice!! second time, just remastered sound perhaps to DOLBY SURROUND!

From my earlier post:

Now that I am back I would like to continue the discussion about Sholay. Although Masti Man brings it here, I am also interested to know how it is compared to the songs DVD with a higher bit rate. What is Arsh opinion of these songs DVD?

Of course this is not related to the topic but want to share this.
Check these screenshots from EROS/B4U and EROS/DEI in smartdetect (not forceweave) but still you can tell the difference.

btw!! i was playing mehbooba song from sholay dvd that I have and MHA disc..Sholay film song mehbooba tells through my powerdvd 8.0 bit rate and same from MHA..6.0 BIT RATE...SAME FOR verru's purposal!! ykhrh?

That means they use the same source i.e. there are not re mastered. What do you say?
