Going with the top greats themes of Sanjay, I think one that needs adding is for actors and actress that have portrayed lead roles but don't have acting ability as their priority - the bimbos of Indian cinema;

Actors:
Salman Khan
Shashi Kapoor
Karan Kapoor
Dharmendra
Kumar Gaurav
Chunky Pandey
Aditya Pancholi
Bobby Deol

Actress:
Kajol! - most irritating and annoying so called 'star' of recent times :kungfu:
Zeenat Amaan
Tina Munim
Meenakshi Sheshadri
Jayaprada
Kareena Kapoor
Lisa Ray
Bipasha Basu
Parveen Babhi
Pooja Batra

Ali :baaa:

I think Dharmendra came out on top with some really sensitive performances in Hrishida's ANUPAMA and SATYAKAM.....he is by no means a bimbo.

Same is true of Shashi Kapoor....His sensitive performances in NEW DELHI TIMES, BASERA, DEEWAR, KABHIE KABHIE, JUNOON are quite unforgettable

I would say Sanjay Kapoor is pretty wooden, as they say, because he can't get facial expressions going, at least in Raja (the only movie i've seen of his). Yukta Mukhi is not great either... shamita shetty, basically a lot of the newcomers aren't that great, but then again, they are new, so gotta give them time to develop. However, I disagree that Hrithik and Kajol are 'bimbos,' as I think they both act decent, especially Kajol. They are both charismatic, and that goes a long way in liking an actor or actress.

I think you really need to have two lists - one of yesteryear stars and one of todays stars. Looking at the list of the older bimbos, most of them had more talent than a lot of the newcomers do, and came up with at least one or two good performances.

Examples:

Zeenat Aman - Don, Insaaf Ka Tarazu
Meenakshi Sheshadri - Damini
Jaya Prada - Sanjog
Dharmendra - Naya Zamana, Satyakam
Kumar Gaurav - Naam

As long as the newcomers nowadays are willing to show their bodies, they have film roles. :nervous: :oh:

Maybe you guys (or gals) should see more movies before you label them as bimbos. I definitely do not agree that Meena Kumari, Rajendra Kumar, Dev Annand, Dharmendra should be labeled as bimbos. Example
Rajendra Kumar in Saathi, Sangam
Dev Annand in in Guide, Paying Guest, Tere Ghar Ke samne
Dharmendra in Phool aur Phatthar and many more.
Meena Kumari in Shaib Bibi aur Ghulam, Pakeezah, Dil apna aur preet pariya, etc.

I'll just stick to the recent actors, since all the older ones are bound to have viciously protective adherents.

ACTRESSES:

Urmila. Yes! Definitely.
Karisma Kapoor. Give me a break, folks. All she does is bat her (fake) eyelashes. Zubeidaa was a joke b/c of her.
Kareena Kapoor. Keep it in the family, girl -- and OUT of the cinema!
Amisha Patel. I liked her in Gadar. It must have been a fluke.
Kirti Reddy.
Sanjana -- the chick in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi. Need? I? Say? More?

ACTORS

Uday Chopra. Oh, Uday. Nonono. You've been a very bad boy.
Bobby Deol -- whoever called this one is sharp. BD's not defamed often enough for my tastes.
Sanjay Dutt. Where did Nargis's half go?
Salman, of course.
Arjun Rampal, as gorgeous as he is, hasn't impressed me in any other aspect.
SUNIL SHETTY! GAHHHHHHH!

Thanks for the opportunity to vent...

Criteria: Must have featured in atleast 5 films in a leading role and also have had some long term success. By the way 1 or 2 fluke decent performances do not count.
Remember this is a Top TEN List.

Actors (or should I say non-actors) In no particular order:

1) Deepak Parashar (How can anyone forget him)
2) Rajendra Kumar (No doubt very successful but acting, I don't think so)
3) Joy Mukherjee
4) Bharat Bhushan
5) Jeetender (Success don't make a good actor)
6) Salman Khan (The less said the better)
7) Kumar Gaurav
8) Sunil Shetty
9) Akshay Kumar
10) Chunky Pandey

Actresses (non-actresses) In no particular order:

1) Vyjantimala
2) Karishma Kapoor
3) Zeenat Aman
4) Jayaprada
5) Meena Kumari (Although there are quite a few who would actually list her amongst the Top Ten Greatest of all time)
6) Meenakshi Sheshadri
7) Rati Agnihotri
8) Poonam Dhillon
9) Shweta Shetty
10) Lisa Ray

Dharmendra, Dev Anand, Shashi Kapoor most certainly do not belong in this list. They have all given some outstanding performances during their career.
