Dear Sanjay
I do not know how you got the impression that RK wasn't a brilliant actor, but I don't think this sounds very good at all.
He is my all time favourite and put him ahead of all. It was sad that we have not seen his any good movie lately were he could have again proved his brilliant acting. You have missed his other hits too.
Aan Milo sajna
Raja rani
Pream kahani
Pream Nagar and
Anugraag
It is nice to know that you are fan of RK

Dear Gautam,
It is not my impression that Rajesh Khanna is not a great actor, on the contrary I think he is one of the all time great Indian actors. I was just responding to a quote from 'DraganR2'.

Thanks for reminding me of these titles. Two of them, namely Prem Kahani and Anuraag most certainly belong in this list, which I have done by editing my post above. By the way the list I compiled is not neccesarily of Rajesh Khanna's hit movies, but it is rather a list of films that shows his talent as a great and versatale actor.

Anand is definitely my favorite movie yet. The movie is like no other Bollywood movie of that time or present...heck, it even made me like Rajesh Khanna

dear sanjay
you should indeed include pream nagar in the list if due to some reasons you have missed it his acting in this movie was superb

I have 3 or 4 Rajesh Khanna DVDs in my collection, so it's not like I hate him. I just thought that he wasn't a GREAT actor. Perhaps I should revisit some more of his work, such as some of the titles you listed. Some of those don't have good DVDs, which is why I am reluctant to rent them. WEG put out a DVD of Avtaar, for example.

I think, hema malini and rajesh khana falls in category..where u want to see that both were super stars of their time..undoubtedly, but how much actors of substance they were!!
but for other selections, most of them you dont have to think, twice..e.g for sanjeev kumar..he was never a super star, but nobody will think twice to lump him as one of the greatest actor of substance..screen ever saw!

Gautam,
As per your request I have added 'Safar' & 'Prem Nagar' to my list. The reason I was reluctant to add Prem NAgar to the list is that personally I think Rajesh Khanna's performance in the film was a little over dramatic for my liking and the film was definately too loud.

I have Aradhana, Amar Prem, and Anand on DVD, so I'll watch those first. But I don't have time this weekend, so I'll watch them later. Was there a DEI-EROS DVD of Daag? I could swear I saw one, though it might have been a newer film.
