From Image Entertainment. Also features "Making The Mahabharata" (55 min.), featuring interviews with the principal cast and crew. Amazon.com says it will be released November 26.

Hmmmm I didn't like this version when it was shown on TV ten yrs ago! This was a recorded stage production right?

Maybe i'll be ablt to appreciate it now..but maybe not.

Btw, I heard there was supposed to be a Maryada Purushottam with Hrithik being made, haven't heard any more news on it.

IMHO what Shyam Benegal did in his 2 episodes of Mahabharata in 'Bharat Ek Khoj' was infinitely better than what Peter Brooks did in his 8 hour long play and 6 hour long tele-series. Not to mention that there's no comparing it with either BR Chopra or the currently running Sanjay Khan versions.

Wish Benegal decides to do his interpretation of the biggest epic ever on the big screen someday.

Which brings an interesting question to moot. Has anyone heard anything about Bharat Ek Khoj taking the DVD format? Some of the episodes are worth killing for such as the Mahabharata, Ramayana and the Rana Pratap, Shivaji ones.
