This has all the best songs from the new YRF movies a total of 210 minutes authorized by Prasad digital.
I will check tonight on home setup and let you know how is the qualtiy for an interlaced dvd.

Usually I don't like to waist money on Songs DVDs if I already have all the movie DVDs where the songs came from. This is the reason, I don't have DEI's "Too Hot To Handle".

In case of YRF's Songs DVD; No way. It is interlaced (even thogh original movie DVDs were Prog) and double the price. Just out of curocity, is the anamorphic picture handled as anamorphic??
Spark's Bollywood Hits Vol 1 that I got was not only interlaced, the anamorphic segments came out non-anamorphic and 33% stretched. Waste of $ 2.99.

It is exactly same reason why I did buy this dvd as I don't have all the movies except old DTPH. And I don't want to waste my hard earned money for the YRF dvd's. I only rent them.

Actually, the song DVDs should make as great advertisements for future DVD/ movies to be released. If it 's advert, it should be best quality to promote the product.

RPG's EVP Song DVD, VS-6 Pack, --- served my purpose of finding out the possible quality/ content of the film DVDs. It's surpring, how many unexpected gems I found out of them.

Yes, It looks proper.

I also received Amar Akbar Anthony (DEI). And I thought it is also typical DEI DVD, looks Ok not great .

Indian dvds to be COMPARED with MOULIN ROUGE!! HOLLY SHIT!! MOULIN R, is one of THE BEST HOLLYWOOD DVD transfer, I have seen..todate!! But I think, STARWARS 2 beats it!!

I suppose those SCREEN CAPS r from GANTI's new YRF songs DVD!?

Yes, you are right these screen shots are from new YRF songs dvd and I do not dare to compare Indian DVDs with MOULIN ROUGE. I thought to share the screen shot along with others.
By the way I don't regret buying this songs dvd even though interlaced it is not that bad, I think the picture quality is almost as good as Santhosham and certainly better than most of the Ayngaran's dvd. I have mentioned in other thread that Ayngaran's dvds have excessive dvnr.

Well, my statement directed to the people who Likes an Ayngaran dvd and thinks it is the best. As for me the songs are great in this dvd and I am not going to buy the YRF movie dvd's( as they are equally crap) by paying $20 each for the 6 movies in this dvd.

I found this write up about Inverse Telecine:

This requires 3-2 field (1/2 video frame) pull down pattern of the interlaced video to be detected. A PS DVD player has an advantage because it can read and make use of the MPEG repeat field flags encoded on the disc, but external line doublers must detect the the 3-2 pull down pattern.

Comments:
What I call
Progressive DVDs, do have the “Repeat Field” flags. Example: DEI, some Super Digital and almost all of Hollywood DVDs.

Pseudo-Progressive DVDs don’t have repeated fields but the field that could have been just repeated, is actually recorded (new camera shot) again. Each field has info out of one film frame only. This 3-2 field pull down can be detected by Pixel to Pixel comparison. There may be or will be other methods??

Thoroughly Interlaced DVDs have no repeated fields at all. Obviously spreading film frames equally to video fields will result in one video field getting info from more than one film frames and at times from 3 film frames. This perhaps can be de-interlaced if both Pixel to Pixel comparison, as well as, start of film frame is successfully detected. I don’t think this routine has successfully been developed. There are more complicated possibilities as well. Like, Film to PAL to NTSC and then again to PAL then to SECAM ---------and so on, issues.

One variable in Pixel to Pixel comparison is deciding on how much noise to tolerate.


Note that many EROS and VS DVDs are pseudo progressive. SHEMAROO DVDs have excellent picture as long as you are using interlaced TVs. But these are thoroughly interlaced DVDs. DVDs done by Prasad Labs too, are thoroughly interlaced, as well as, their pic is not as good as Shemaroo.
