Comparison shots at
http://www.zulm.net/modules....order=0

clearly show that both these movies are cropped from top and bottom out of a 4:3 frame to make it 1.85:1.

Any clarifications??

I am not commenting on the quality of the DVDs. What the UK's PAL release, no matter how bad the quality, shows is that it has extra picyure content at the top and at the bottom of the picture as compared to the NTSC 1.85:1 release (NTSC 1.85:1 picture has nothing extra on the sides). It looks like, the theatrical AR of these two movies was 4:3.
