That's a news for me.

For clips, they show whatever they can get. They do credit the Video providers. Mostly it is "ASIAN" , "ENTERTAINMENT FOR U" and perhaps "VIDEO PALACE" that provide video clips to this program and other local TV programs. I am sure "Eye On Asia" shows these clips assuming that the video suppliers do have the rights. And they do. ASIAN used to have a total monopoly on all video rights for 99.9% of Indian movies. Even now they are the main distributors for EROS and of course they own ASIAN released DVDs. ASIAN is also a distributor for other DVD/ VHS companies. VIDEO PALACE too is distributor for EROS and other brands. E4U is distributor for VIDEO SOUND.

From this you can deduce that the clips are shown with permission. QUALITY is another issue. It depends, what they are given.

As for ban, I don't know. Darshan Sahota was, and still is, the biggest player in arranging BIG bollywood star SHOWS. I think some shows went in loss. So there may be financial obligations and reasons, but I don't think so.

sahota does arrange shows, but i would doubt that the shows' going for a loss would be a reason for a ban... ???

as far as i know, about the only show in the present day past (?) that has gone for a loss, and that too, a spectacular loss would be the HeartThrobs show(hugely), and the sunny deol one (to a lower extent tho...)

anyways, i am so sure it was a pirate...cuz we know that no DVD has been released, yet they played a clip from it, which was totally disgusting...and worse than worse...so had to be a pirate...


anyways, will somone please elaborate on why SAHOTA has been banned..??

Even a pirate print legally belongs to the right holders. That is EROS in this case. If ASIAN provides that clip from a grey category print, it is their decision. It is legal as ASIAN are EROS's agents here.

As I said before, legal/ illegal (genuine/ pirate) is one thing, quality is another. In Indian TV/ Video business there is no co-relation between genuine product and quality product.

i knwo this isnt related to the dvd itself but to devdas...does anyone know where i can get the devdas cdrom online or anywhere inn the US? they better fucking put it in the dvd as a bonus for making us wait so FUCKING long!

Sorry to keep you guys waiting on this one. But I'm not 100% sure myself if its true, but I make my assumption on from what I've heard from many different people. Even a friend of a friend who knows the younger son of Dharshan Sahota(I think his name is "Johar Sahota") says its true, and it happened during the mid-80s when Dharshan Sahota was cought at Delhi's international Airport for smuggling unlicensed gold to a private company in Pakistan. And an on-going investigation resulted in proving Sahota guilty, even at the time he was still an NRI and the penalties resulted of being banned from India for life.

Hey the guy at this indian store has been sayin that Devdas is gunna be comin to his store this weekend, as far as his distributers tell him. But You never know i think we all have had it with this topic. Look Above we have people talkin about things that dont have anything to do with the dvd! hehe. Anyone else who has new about the DEVDAS post it all ya other peeps get a diff forum! Till then Peace :ffs:
