You all techy people,

Yesterday, I bought Bose AM-15 speakers.
Can somebody recommend a good receiver for these speakers?
Budget is around US $500.

I am trying to chose between "Denon AVR-1803" and "Onkyo TX-SR600".

Please help....

I guess either of them works for you for the money. Good choices. I have the Onkyo and love it for the quality of the sound but I mainly use it for HT.

No offense and sorry to bring you the bad news, but the Bose is not a good buy at all. Seeing that you just bought them I would recommend you take them back and believe me there is a lot of much better speakers out there than Bose.

Sanjay,

Can you mention some of the negative points of AM-15 speakers?
What is your preference over Bose within same price range (I paid US $800)?

To your first questions, I would say go with Denon. They, IMHO, make better products then Onkyo. Solid built and good sound for both HT and Stereo CD.

As to Bose or not to Bose, it's really preference. Your preference. I would look at Mission, B&W and others before deciding on the Bose.

Btw! If u r in Canada! these r canadian, along with Mirage! another good one! u might be able to find for abt 1/2 of US price!! :baaa:

I would recommend Paradigm speakers myself. They are definately some of the best value for money speakers.

Vijay Bhai-Arsh is absolutely right. The recomendations he has made re: Onkyo & Definitive Tech speakers.I can speak up for both these products because I own both these brands & until a few years ago I sold high end end audio/video equipment for a living.First of all Bose has no mid-range whatsoever. It is better to buy a 3way speaker because these speakers will give you you the full spectrum of sound. All said and done the basic buying technique for audio/video is " if the picture looks good it's a good TV and if the sound is good and pleasing to the ears then the audio equip is good.Just as a recomendation go and listen to Onkyo-Integra Research 7.1 & Definitive BP-2002TL Speakers and share your experience with us. Good Luck [ Incidentally I owned the Bose AM-5 for 6 years before I bought the BP-2002 TL[ I did'nt know what I was missing ]
:D

Greetings:Thnx jas! for ur supporting comments!
I agree with u!! thats why I said, that we all sail through the same boat, called BOSE! before we UNDERSTAND/REALIZE!

Now Question is abt his BUDGET too!!

Onkyo INTEGRA! is definately a notch higher than ONKYO!

But Basic ONKYO, MARANTZ and DENON is SUFFICIENTLY good, if u have RESTRICTED bufdget!
But I have seen people finding GOOD/competitive deals on INTEGRA 7.1 too!!

Speakers!! I'll consistently say: Both DEF TECH and PARADIGM as a Matter of fact MIRAGE too sound GOOD!

MIRAGE has limited dealership!

Both MIRAGE/DEF TECH..if Bi polars!! are PLACEMENT SPECIFIC!

FRONT FIRING..3 ways , will be the best!!

Some times, people like the SIZE of BOSE!! so for that reasons, DEF TECH and PARADIGM, SAT/SUB system will be best suitable!!

BTW!! a personal question? are u stillin HIGH end AV buisness??? ???
