yo...there was a hindi horror movie released back in the day like around 89' or somethin, which the government paid people to watch it at the theator....there was a big controversy about that film back in the day because ppl couldnt watch it, it was that good....does anyone knows the name of this movie??? is it RAAT with Om Puri???? is it available in dvd yet????? and then there was another movie that was made in i think 96' or 97, and this one was also with OM PURI....i dont remember the name, could some one help me with this one also??? do u know any good ones??? thanx

I had no idea that Om Puri made a horror film. I like some of these Indian horro films, especially the Ramsay ones. I'm not sure but I think Saamri was made a few years back. Could it be that?
Could it be Veerana? It can't be Purana Mandir, cos that was mid-80's. Maybe it was Purana Haveli?

Yes this was the one....RAAT....i saw this in 96' when it came out....dam this was the best horror movie that is ever made in india i would say....cause this film dont have any songs and its a clean movie...NO KISSING, NO SEX just scary stuff compared to other ones, they put these stuff in most horror movies.....i suggest everyone to get this film if u like Horror movies....Om Puri's acting was excellent just like he does in other movies.....i think the concept for this movie came from the english movie "EXORSIST".....but its not all copied exactly like that....i thought it had a good story line and direction was great....some of the parts actually scare the hell out of you if u watch it in dark :) .....anyways its a very good movie....i am gonna go and get it.....thanx a lot guys....

Ram Gopal Verma hopes to do all that he could not with RAAT in BHOOT....

RAAT though good in parts (and actually scary too) was too tame a tale....wish they had used Om Puri and Anant Nag much better than they ultimately did.....

But it is certainly a worthwhile case study into the evolution of RGV as he is today....
