The only nmber, that i kinda felt indifferent was "saat suron" Seemed too ordinary, rather special, the same raga based composition that have ben heard so many time in that kinda song.one I can remember..70s film" pat jhad sawan basant bahar" I think, Jeetendra/Rishi/Jaya Pradsha film. was very good.

Pathjhar Sawan Basant Bahar was from the movie Sindoor with Shashi Kapoor, Jaya Prada, Govinda, Neelam and Rishi Kapoor.

Deewangee music gets a ROARINg review at indiafm!hmm!

Deewangee

By Joginder Tuteja

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - Super hit
Tera Jadu Chal Gaya - Average
Devdas - Hit
Shakti - Poor

I think Shakti's music is anything but POOR.. Maybe Joginer Tuteja didnt listen to all the songs or didnt see all the rave reviews of this album !

Yes it is indeed Rajesh Roshan, with the director being K.ravi Shanker ( who gave us some good films with good stories)

Thnx Nath!! My first INSTINCT was right!!
When Rajesh Roshan is not in KNPH mode!! He used to and he is really capable of CHURNING, GOOD MELODIOUS numbers!!

I remember, film was abt SUSPICIOUS husband!! Rishi..both originally SINGERS!! Am I right?

By the way..Song that made GOVINDA famous with Neelam!? was from this film too?
"Mae se meena se na sagar se"" dil behalta hai mera!! aapke aajane se""
Wah! what a melody! Now I need VBRS of this album?
Any body? :baaa: ???

A disappointing year in Bollywood thus far, Bollywood has seen a failure in every genre of film making. Thrillers, family dramas, romances, science fiction, horror they´ve all gone down disappointingly. Director Anees Bazmee who previously directed the super hit re-make of French Kiss is back with his next offer Deewangee. Deewangee was once plagued with problems but couldn´t have found a better time to release as one of the main leads, Ajay Devgan, is having a stupendous year. Not to forget Akshaye Khanna´s hit thriller Humraaz in which he surprised audiences with his negative performance. Akshaye hopes to hit it three in a row (Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz) before his doomed Love You Hamesha releases soon.

"The performances are the thing to look out for", says Anees. So much so that the director has set up a promotional section on the films promotional website, for each actor. "And why not. The main leads are pure talent". Indeed, even Urmila has been having a year with her last two performances (Om Jai Jagadish, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya) - negative- being the talk of the town. T-Series who holds the rights to the hit soundtrack were so pleased with Nusrat Badr´s work in Devdas that they roped him in for Deewangee. While Salim Bijnori has composed the lyrics for most of the soundtrack, Nusrat shows great versatility with his scintillating "Hai Ishq Khata", "Deewangee" and "Ai Ajnabi". Ismail Darbar has also bounced back from an atrocious outing with Shakti - The Power. The songs for Deewangee, especially "Hai Ishq Khata" and the techno semi-qawaali "Saasein Hi Saasein" have already caught up greatly with the masses.

You Will Be Deceived By What You See!!??? :baaa:

*** One thing that is HARD FOR ME TO DIGEST! seeing DEVGAN, as MOSEEKAR(COMPOSER, GAYAK) not CHOR and GUNDA, MOBSTER!!
Would he fit? time will tell!!? :baaa: :oo:

I can't remember a huge amount about Sindoor, but from what I can remember, Shashi Kapoor is married to Jaya Prada, who is a singer. Her duets with Rishi Kapoor make her famous, and she performs in loads of shows with him. Shashi Kapoor then thinks that Jaya Prada is having an affair with Rishi Kapoor. The two separate, but Jaya is pregnant with Shashi's daughter (who grows up to be Neelam). Govinda is cast opposite Neelam.

Hope this helps!

DEEWANGEE(Music) the review:7/10

Overall:
Since Ismail Darbar is only a few albums old, it's a bit hard to review any of his albums without comparison. Truly, this album is one of his worst, but Ismail Darbar's worst is the equivalent of a "good" effort by many other composers. Though a bit disappointing, this isn't the disappointment Shakti was.
Overall Rating (Not an average): 7.0/10

After many casting and production setbacks, Anees Bazmee is finally releasing his next offering Deewangee in November. The film is a remake of the Richard Gere, Edward Norton starrer Primal Fear were Akshaye Khanna takes on Richard´s role and Devgan steps into Norton´s shoes. The film of course has been re-written to add in Urmila as a singer/dancer. For the music Bazmee made an interesting choice of Ismail Darbar who comes up with some decent tunes. Darbar has already given us a near masterpiece in Devdas earlier this year, while almost loosing it in Shakti- The Power which was quite a let down. Here Darbar makes significant improvements with the help of lyricists Nusrat Badr and Salim Bijnori, not to mention his favourite Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Ismail Darbar does a better job on this album than he did in Shakti- The Power. He infuses a lot of different styles into the songs, much like he did in Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya. The songs have a modern touch to them but he does add classical touches here and there. The effect is a pleasing album, which may not be a masterpiece like Devdas or even Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, but still shows that Darbar can work well with an out and out commercial venture as well. The pick of the lot are definitely the haunting Pyar Se Pyare and Hai Ishq Khata, but the other tracks do add to the albums overall appeal. A CD buy may not be recommended, but this one is a good addition to your cassette collection.
