Last week’s 'womanpower' releases Shakti and Gunaah flopped at the box-office and gave the Hindi film industry a chance to reiterate the myth that heroine-centric films do not work. That also gives them an excuse to underpay heroines and give them lesser parts.

Industry calls a movie a flop or a hit, depending upon, how much it was sold for and how much it made. I would rather prefer a movie like SHAKTI that made a 68 lakh (declared a flop because of it's high price) as compared to some other movie that made ony 5 lakhs but declared a hit because it was sold for only 1 lakh.

In North America, even Big Hollywood movies get only 10 to 30% full and are declared a hit. Bollywood films are treated as flops even if the fetch 60% hall full.

And various magazines have their own spin unless the film is a big hit or a big flop. There is no point in copying all the articles from dozens of sources into zulm. It just leaves the readers confused.

I also see that some posters select the reviews that support their viewpoint and dicuss on that without watching the movie. I have seen them prasing someone's review for a movie and then abusing him for his review on another movie.
