Finally, I got my hands on a copy of Bombay Dream's album (I live in the United States, btw). I was a bit anxious, as I had heard from many people how much of a disappointment it had been. However, after giving it some time, I really began to enjoy some of the numbers, even a few of the redone ones.
Overall, not the disappointment I heard it was. It's a pretty damn good soundtrack, and I'm glad I own it. Though it was a bit expensive (British imports), I really enjoy the album still, and can't wait for the play to come to Broadway.
I like the music very much. My favourite is "The Journey
Home". I have seen the stage production twice. The musical
is number one in London and most shows are sold out.
The second time they repeated two numbers in the
end to the public's delight. If you sit close enough
you can see that Dalip Tahil's producer has a prison
jacket with the number 420 on it. And in the beginning
they reference a scene from "Shree 420".
