I just bought the devdas curtain raiser dvd . It has a couple songs from devdas movie ok sound and bad picture quality. But the rest of 26 songs have absulately terrible sound quality and even worse picture quality. The reason I bought it because some people here had sugested that this dvd had good sound and picture. They could not be any wrong. If anyone is interested I'll sell it back at 50% off. I suspect the Devdas movie dvd from eros will be like the rest of thier dvd's a piece of crap, i'm very sure of that. If anybody was thinking about bying devdas curtain raiser just avoid it at any cost, believe me.This was probably the worse $10 I've ever spend on a dvd.

100%

The DVD is full of crap extras. Another pathatic marketing gimmick by Eros Entertainment to make money off of Devdas success. Around my area, the Curtain Rasier DVD itself is selling for $20 Canadian bucks. I haven't bought it, but have tested it out by renting it, and even than, I feel I have wasted my money. Ken Naz (CEO of Eros Entertainment North America) is a fucking moron!

Eros final DVDs are usually made from source similar these screen shots; the quality of these shots should indicate how the final DVD is going too look i.e. like all the other Eros trash out there;

Najjib,
You should have looked the thread more carefully as Ali mentioned about the quality of the DVD.

Gaanti laal, lalulaal! ;) :baaa: I never said picture was GOOD!
I insist, sound on 2 songs was very good, true DD 5.1, extra material was interesting, and 26 songs in there with eros typical picture quality! all possibly make it a GOOD buy! thats what i said!

But I said too, that this dvd, most likely will come packed in EROS collector edition, so ? decsision is urs! Now dont blame me!!

:baaa: :bangbang: just dont go for bottom line only lols, there was much more in the body of the thread too! :vsneaky: :bangbang:

Arsh nope sound is also not true 5.1 ...True 5.1 is 448KBPs.. but this one had 384 Kbps aka 4.1 (i.e one channel was missing)

5.1 can be 384 or 448 kbps. Of course, the latter is preferred.

Arsh,
I did read your entire review and I know that najjib was referring to that thread so I want to make sure that he understands your stand on this dvd. I highly respect your views and your hard work in bringing the screen shots. No pun intended

Thnx Ganti! I really appreciate, and myself too, appreciate all GURU logs here, including urself, for all valuable, complimentory opinions and ADVISE, Sincere always! ;)

I will still insist! besides Nath's Declaration of DEVDAS curtain raiser 2 songs being 4.1 rather than 5.1, after he reviewed my VOB files that I ripped and sent over to him! :vsneaky: ;) How representable they are? I dont know, of original recording on DVD!***Nath! to comment? BTW! which of the channel was missing? R/L/C/RS/LS/or 0.1 LFE channel????

But Fact! stays! 2 Songs on CR dvd sounded atleast 100-1000x better than what I heard in THEATRIC presentation.

EROS' Video are not worth, aknowledging and commenting! Believe me!! just HOPELESS, pseudo crap! :vangry: :bangbang:

Added bonus songs, GOOD SELECTION of Songs! Sound and Picture aside, older, Madhuri's films are in Pseudo 5.1, e.g in Choli ke peeche..from Khalnayak, as I have seen Film and DEI dvd, none were in DD 5.1 true sound! All are Non anamorphic Grainy, transfers!on song selection!!! :baaa: ;) :vsneaky:

I really appreciate, any correction, supplemental findings, additions, or if some thing was overlooked in any of the posts!
IMHO, I am not a pro, just an enthusiast with a keen eye and ears! and my opinions might not be ultimate or finally authentic!! I just try, to present my thoughts.Thnx for Understanding, and u r welcome! I dont have Ego problem, just FUNNY instincts! :xmas:

Arsh, I didn't mean to be critical of you, for once I thought that Eros might've mad a decent song dvd, but I was very disapointed again. I think I, one for sure will never buy Erios song dvd's. I think the only decent dvd that Eros has mad the last couple years was ( Tere Mere Sath Rain with Ajay Devgan), very good sound and picture quality also with Macrovision. The only dvd with Macrovision from Eros In a long time(which we don't like). I don't know who authored that Dvd for Eros.
