Most eagerly awaited DVDs for me include Gardish, Lamhe, and some old AB flicks like Mahaan.

Gardish, the Jackie starrer from 1993 was brilliant and I'm wondering who has the rights to this film? It was directed by Priyadarshan and had Jackie and Amrish Puri in awesome roles.

Also what's happening with Lamhe. Last I heard on this forum was that Yashraj and Eros were in a tussle as to who owned the rights and who was going to make the DVD, so who won? Not that it matters, their equally as bad, but it was one of Anil Kapoor's best performances.

Lastly, Amitabh's old flicks were being brought to life by DEI, but since there doesn't seem to be no more DEI, are the plans to release classics of Amitabh like Mahaan over? I wouldn't mind seeing a decent copy of Aakhree Raasta (one by Apollo is crap) and Main Azaad Hoon (again the one by Apollo is crap). Does Apollow own the rights of these films for long? They had Dostana out on that label but that didn't stop Eros from making their own, can the same be done for others?

Lamhe was released by ERO$ and the review is... Here

It was also release by Samrat with a antakshari song (with Anupam and Sridevi) cut out. Video, cropped, but was apparently better than ERO$.

ERO$ true 5.1 on classic movies...HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Don't have it myself (won't buy it till a proper version comes out) but as per Ali:

Bad
- badly sourced video (looks like form a poor VHS print!) with speckles, white spots and other blemishes evident throughout
- dark, gloomy, blurry video, very poor detail and sharpness
- decayed colouring
- compression and DNR problems apparent throughout
- ear bashing poor sound mix, mono to all channels which noise infected on top of that!
- no extras, unfriendly 16x9 subtitles
