There is no doubt about it that Devdas is the best film of the year soo far. The next six months dont seem to have anything that extrodinary. But lets talk in term of best film, best actor, best actress, sapp actress etc.......... If you ask me i think it has potential for all but comedy!!! Lets keep our fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!! D:

Devdas will win many awards, not because its a good film (which it is) but because its has become popular. Filmfare awards go by popularity and not by critical acclaim

First of all, how can you judge films that you havent even seen?
Secondly MDK is made by YRF who have a history in producing crowd pleasing irrelevant crap and is said to be similar to KKHH so you never know. Also will K3G be eligible?

k3g was at last years awards...

but just look at the trailors and the music of MDK- they are even worse quality than ever seen b4...

also its director is an idiot...and also the movie was reshot!

so my expectations of it are zilch!

You have got to be kidding about these titles. Let's analyze the three.
1) Kaante - directed by someone who has yet to even make a half decent film, inspite of the fact that most if not all of them were lifts from Hollywood films.

2)Mujhse Dosti Karoge - A totally unknown and so far 'B' director. From the production house that now are no longer capable of making anything fresh or imaginative.

3)Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon - Now Sooraj Barjatya has got to be one of the most over rated directors in the history of cinema. Not that I am suggesting he is a bad director, certainly he is far superior to most of the Bollywood directors. But that in itself is not saying much. Is it?

PS: Who cares about the Filmfare Awards anyhow. I certainly don't.

I think it really depends on where u are getting ur trailors from!!! MDK[CODE]

Guys lets think abt the alternatives to the Filmfare awards...
There are the Zee Cine Awards, Screen-Videocon Awards and also an International Bollywood award ceremony.

How does DEVDAS stand a chance ? well it looks quite good infact.
Madhuri may infact bag the best supporting actress award.
Ismail Darbaar for the music & Nusrat Badr for the lyrics
Also Devdas might win the award in set design etc ( hands down in that regard)
Shreya Ghosal will win the best female signer award ( or at least the best debutante)
However the crucial awards of best actor/actress can still be decided based on not the films Sanjay has mentioned but on one film which is supposed to be released later this year and that is L.O.C ( for which our Paki freinds may create some hullabhoo and after that will come and watch the film of cos )...
J.P.Dutta then may well be in direct competition with Sanjay Leela Bhanshali for the best directors award.

& Surprise surprise... Amitabh may infact get the award for Aankhen ( actor in a negative role)
or Akshay Khanna may come in the picture for this award for his role in Humraaz !

And it is usually YRF's "irrelevant crap" that usually wins the awards!

It's not a matter of my expectations, but a matter of filmfares view and they tend to go for these crowd pleasing flicks!!

As for MAIN PREM KI DEEWANI HOON - I think this sounds v. promising with

Sooraj Barjatya directing and with an all-star cast of

Hrithik Roshan
Kareena Kapoor

Sounds quite good!!
