Anu Malik creates a record for 'L.O.C'

Music director Anu Malik, a constant in all of J P Dutta's films, has recorded the longest song ever composed in Hindi films for LoC, a film inspired by the Kargil war.

More than six singers, including Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam, have sung this song which stretches for more than 20 minutes in the film. 'It was a challenge,' admits Malik. 'It was recorded over three days, but we had to make sure that the voice tenor and quality did not change over the three days.'

The song, the lyrics for which has been written by Javed Akhtar, is picturised on the entire motley bunch of 11 actors, that include the likes of Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sunny Deol and Amarr Upadhyay (of the Mihir Virani fame)

It'll probably be a background song, or a war march that serves as a major unifying theme throughout the film. It will probably be broken up into parts, with some verses sung at one time, and others later; all pertinent to the situation on-screen.

J.P. doesn't seem to have a clue about filmmaking. Just another old fogey who got stuck in the industry.

Hey already some folks of a particular nationality are getting pissed off :) Good show folks... keep that attitude, it gives more spice to the film and also to its publicty... :D

By the way 20 mins for a film song... which indeed will be a record. I wonder will it be as melodious as Sandese Aate Hain from BORDER ?

Dograk as for Refugee, you know I still havent seen that film, though the songs are great no doubt !... Who would want to see 2 lovers criss-cross over the BORDER :D
