PS: Has anyone noticed that there has been no post from Jeff in this thread since he originally started it. I wonder why? Maybe all you guys "confounded" him a bit way too much.

I've been busy all week (including finally seeing Devdas last night at the IMAX theater in Indianapolis) and haven't had much time to post here this week. I've read all the posts in this thread and wow, it looks like I've got a lot of reading to do! This weekend I'm going to sit down and read these posts more closely and see what I can find out from Yahoo India.

I also plan to look up some tourist info on India as well. I am very seriously thinking about planning a trip there this winter. My only problem is that I am terrified of snakes! I've heard that cobras are common even in large cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Lol Jeff...snakes :) Come on man... if you happen to be in Mumbai & Delhi.. the chances of u drooling over the gals there ( and vice versa) are more than you finding a snake. Its like assuming you are gonna get a Racoon in ur backyard here !
But yeah if you wanna take a hike to India, make sure you take that in winter... (will give u enuff scope to catch up some movies in Indian theatres also)..
BTW what was ur impression of Devdas ?

Don't worry Jeff, snakes in winter are quite uncommon...they are more active in summer.

I wouldn't have thought so until I was watching a show on Animal Planet about this guy in Mumbai who removes snakes for the city. I couldn't believe the places where they were finding cobras in such urban areas. Anyway, I'm sure it's not likely to happen while I'm over there, but I will have my eyes open nonetheless!

I would love to although I doubt they run subtitled prints in India. It might be fun to go to one anyway just for the experience.

I'd probably give it a 9 out of 10. I seemed to like it more than some people around here did here. I think I might have liked HDDCS just a bit more. I didn't have a problem with the acting at all. I can't wait for the DVD. I've read 4-5 weeks for the official release.

Next viewing: Taal

Jeff yeah esp if you are in Mumbai ( i dunno abt Delhi).. You should visit the Metro theatre... That is supposed to be one of the most expensive Indian theatres in Mumbai ( with ticket prices ranging from $2-$3 US :D) So you will like the experience of watching a movie on big screen with great sound also.

Secondly make it a point to visit some of the famous Film studios there in Mumbai... RK Studios being one of them..

As for the man removing the cobra in a crowded city...well u find stags also here in the city , even though they are in the outskirts... Blame it all on expanding human population !

If you go to Jaipur try to see a movie in the Raj Mandir theater. It may be the most beautiful theater I've ever seen. Go early and take in the atmosphere around the theater.

Unfortunately, when I was there ALBELA was playing so I was stuck seeing a Govinda movie (he's not my favorite), but the theater was amazing.

They don't have subtitles but I still had a good time (I don't speak Hindi either - yet).
